Bottom line, we have no closer and may not until July. And only if rehab goes well. The Strop plan isn’t going to get it done. Too inconsistent, I’m afraid.
Strops first bad game of the year. It’ll be fine.
Kyle Ryan did his job but made a major league mistake.
Bats should’ve done more with the bags juiced and no outs in the 6th.

I get CSN on DirecTV Now, but not CSN+. Didn't get the game until after 8:30 because of the White Sox.
I wasn’t able to watch...what did Ryan (not) do? Perhaps I don’t want to know.
Runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Ball was hit back to the pitcher. He had the guy on 3rd hung up between home and 3rd and could have easily prevented the run. He even stared the guy down. Went to first instead and allowed the run. Luckily Rizzo was able to get the guy going from 2nd to 3rd for the last out in the inning, but the damage was done.
Down by 1 after Strop crapped his pants. Runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out. Ball gets hit back to him, runner on 3rd starts running home. He looks at the runner and runner completely stops around halfway down the baseline. He turns and throws it to first and the run scores easily to go down by 2. KB, of course, makes it hurt worse by hitting what should have been the game tying HR in the bottom of the 9th.
