In Fred's case, it certainly isn't going to help with high school recruiting. I'm not sure that it matters/he cares too much, but it's not a great look and it can (and will) be used against him in recruiting.

You know what else can be used against Fred in recruiting?

And Fred’s image to ISU fans. That choir boy look getting some nicks in it.

It wasn’t like Fred didn’t run off players here. It’s the reality of the profession. Coaches cut dead weight, so they can try to fill that scholarship with someone that will be productive.

Seems kind of hypocritical for us to get our panties in a bunch about this now. He did this stuff at ISU too. This is who Fred's always been. It's our fault we made him out to be something he's not.

Way up there
He didn’t jump on social media. It happened on Wednesday and was reported on Thursday in the World Herald

Appears to be a nice kid from Nebraska

Totally agree, people were saying "this stuff happens all the time everywhere", thats true but the kids quotes make this different from those situations. Again, he did nothing wrong, just pointing out how this differs from other situations where this happens. If this kid just said something vague like "they were going in a different direction" or something along those lines, no one would bat an eye.

Meh, who knows if he knew this kid had his last final in an hour. A lot of pressure for these coaches to win. This happens everywhere.

There’s pressure on the players to stay eligible too.

Wasn't the Amardi year the same year with took KJ Bluford from a JUCO. Never understood why we pulled Amardi's letter and kept Bluford, who left midseason anyways.

Chuck It KJ sounds like a Hoiball player if there ever was one.

See Prohm and Brady Ernst.
No Ernst fan here, but that's apparently how it went down. Brought the kid in and told him it's time to go.

No biggie. It's just how the game is played.

Again that happens everywhere. You are right. The ****** part is telling the kid right before a final. I’d also contend that this seems a little late in the process to be running off a player.
