On some level its always puzzled me how it is legal to pay for someone's silence with an NDA, yet threatening to make information public unless that happens is illegal. They both seem like 2 sides of the same coin, yet if youre on the 'has information' side its illegal to call it how it is.

Ask Randy. You bet your ass you better be nervous. This could be the end of ISU basketball. We'll be playing Simpson and Grinnell in the near future. Then again, maybe not.

My first reaction to this was why/how would a private attorney be charges against Nike, isn't that the governments role, but with the revelation that he was trying to extort Nike, well I guess this makes sense.

I'd still expect the government to drop the hammer on Nike at some point, the same way they did with Adidas. As others have noted, there is no way Nike wasn't doing the same stuff.
