Thanks for doing this mred. There are so many good things happening with the WBB team that I have almost lost interest in the men's team. Did not give men's Big 12 tournament a thought, are heading to Oklahoma City to watch the women play. We live 6 hours from Ames, so probably will not see the first two NCAA games in person, but might drive to Chicago for games 3 and 4.

If Bridget can average 10.8 rebounds in 5 tournament games (54 rebounds) she could sneak into the top 10 for career rebounding average. In 6 tournament games she would need 61 rebounds (10.17 average)

I remember Angie Welle and she was a great player ...but Records are made to be Broken and I hope that Bridget Carleton breaks the record......

Hopefully we make a Sweet 16 appearance. Angie got to play in an Elite Eight and two Sweet Sixteens plus capture our only conference title (tie for 1st). Been ten years since our last Sweet Sixteen. Set up this year with two home games (one easy/one more even match) to reach the 16, than we likely play a #1.

Hey, don't short change Angie out of her two Big 12 tournament championships and a runner-up, including 1 MVP and three all tournament teams. ;)

ISU's highest all-time team PPG is 79.9, from that 99-00 offensive juggernaut of a team

If this team is going to set a record for PPG, it'll be close. ISU's PPG has dropped to 80.2. Here's the current top 5:

1. 80.17 ppg (18-19)
2. 79.94 ppg (99-00)
3. 79.79 ppg (74-75)
4. 79.45 ppg (00-01)
5. 77.24 ppg (01-02)

If we play 5 more games, we need to average 78.6 ppg to break the record. That will be difficult against the teams we'll be facing, especially since in that scenario two of the five games will be losses and we're averaging 64.7 ppg in losses.

Updated post after the Big 12 Semi vs Texas. Her scoring's been slightly down, but making the championship game will help a lot.

I'm leaving the base scenario of 5 postseason games the same, but with ISU's semifinal win, you could make an argument that it should be six games (since 5 games would require ISU to be upset in the second round of the NCAA Tournament).

I have enjoyed watching both of these great players thru their careers. I believe that Bridgett cares more about winning and moving deeper into the tourneys then getting the record. If you watch the last few games she has passed to a team mate who has a better shot then taking hers. That is what I love about this TEAM. They are a TEAM first, player for stats second.

I doubted Bridget was going reset the record- now it's all on the team to help her.

If we win Monday against Mizzery State and she plays to her average in the Sweet Sixteen, it's in the bag. Wow. We are witnessing one of the great Cyclones achievements in any sport!

For her size and stealth athleticism- the blocks and steals stats might be most amazing. While one might say ISU has not dominated in those stats, it's still remarkable. Those stats come from scouting, positioning, and going after it in smart ways.
