Thoughts? Seems a little weak but ok.

A few on here I've had and like:

Lake Time PB Putter
Rook's Breakfast Porter
TG Psuedo Sue
Singlespeed Tip the Cow
Alluvia Helix (If available)

Maybe try Big Boar Pale Ale from Thew and Earth, Wind, and Fruit from Court Ave.

Wanted to try something from PIVO but neither of these are up my ally.

Both those Pivo beers are really good. They aren't that into IPAs.

I agree with you on the general line up. Lots of breweries not bringing their best stuff here.

My 2 cents:
Lots of good options, won't go thirsty.
I wish Madhouse had chosen to bring something other than the Monk Town, the Honey Pilsner makes good sense for a hot day at the fair, but would have preferred a fruited sour or one of their revamped IPAs to go along with it.
I'm definitely gonna give Thew a try.
No Pulpit Rock makes me a sad panda.

Here is their high end list
fNRzx2J.jpg

Majestic Beast IPA is excellent
Disaster at Maux is very good
Singlespeed-Coconut Migration is good
Barn Town Neon is good
Oreo Speedwagon is good
Tropical Burn is ok
WestO Coco is good

A lot of these I wouldn't consider "high end" but still very good.

Singlespeed's Ring Around the Gose is also very very good.

Seems kinda lame to me. Maybe I'm spoiled, but I only see like 2 beers I'd be interested in that I can't go and get at HyVee right now.

Interested in PIVO and Thew's Big Boar, if the lawyers let me

The Big Grove 'Summer Jam' Sour is really really good. It's their standard Sidehill Sour infused with blackberries, raspberries, and cherries. The sweetness of the berries smoothes out the tartness a little bit and it's a great summer beer. I've had multiple family and friends from Iowa City grab me a 'Crowler' of it when they come to town.

So will the high end list be served at the same location, or somewhere else?

Last year the high end stuff was under the same tent, but at a separate tap area. Haven't walked over there yet to see whether set-up is the same.

Testifying
Please remember that the people working the tent take all the tips (while volunteering) and donate them all to chairty. So the tips are appreciated and go to a great cause.

Agree with Majestic Beast. Had it at brew fest and it was really good. Also really like coconut migration.
Definitely want to try Thew. Maybe Keg Creek’s mango shake and Madhouse’s Maui Wowie. Looks like too many dark heavy beers for the heat.

Checked it out today. Not everything on the list is available. They have about 20 taps of the high end stuff and it doesn’t change until they blow a tap.
I had:
Majestic Beast- this may be the best neipa I’ve ever had. Lion Bridge did good.
The rest were from the regular list.
Court Ave Tropical Smoothie-haven’t had any Court Ave beer for quite awhile but this makes me want to try more.
Thew Big Boar- solid pale ale
BigGrove Arms Race- ok
Granite City Fog Drift neipa- nope
