I think this is going to be my next home gym piece. I'm a little hesitant because of the monthly charge. Do you know if you have access to anything once that's gone? Its either that or a treadmill and I hate running and don't have great knees so I'm leaning toward this.

Have you seen the Concept2-Model D rowing machines? I've been using these at gym and thought about dumping membership to just buy one for home. Full body workout, easy on joints, and variety for indoors (can still bike outside vs biking in and out). About $900, and foldable.

Nice. I’m going to take an early withdrawal or a loan from my 401k and add this to the peloton for a rocking home gym experience.

We've had one for almost a year now. I still use it on pretty much a daily basis. I keep it downstairs, with a TV plugged in front of it, so even if I don't feel like a "workout" I can still do some light rowing while watching TV before bed.

I downloaded the LiveRowing App for my phone to use with it, gives a lot more varied workouts and challenges. I would suggest a heart rate monitor though, if you do a lot of the challenges. You can push a lot harder than you should for 500m or 250m bursts.

It was originally my wife's idea. I figured it would end up like the exercise bike, the ski machine, the treadmill, etc. But then I tried it out and got hooked. I love the metrics that it keeps and trying to beat personal bests and actually watching myself get more in shape.

I've seen them. I'm just not that interested in a rowing machine. I do some other total body stuff so I'm looking for more long duration cardio just as an add on.

What does adding someone mean?
Not a whole lot. You get to see each others activity (rides, results, etc.) Probably more useful for people who have similar goals, but not a ton of Cyclone's on there and it's not always obvious. Supposedly you can video chat with people you follow but that sounds weird.

I suppose it could be cool if a group of friends were doing some sort of workout challenge.

I looked at that, but I bought the one below instead. It's so calming, many times, I'll use it with no music or tv.
