I thought there were talks when the 10th assistant was first announced that they might add a Special Teams guy like Joe Houston, which would shift Gasser's Special Teams stuff off to Houston. Since Gasser coached TEs before, I could see Gasser being WR/TE, RB/Recruiting for Golesch, and Houston for Special Teams

This was an easy option Matt noted when discussing the 10th assistant. If this happens, it will be because the TE position can fit into various existing rooms (OL, RB, WR). If there is a specific position add to the offensive side, it is because they have determined Joe's role works from a compensation, recruiting, and interaction standpoint. I would expect the latter to occur, especially without a pressing need to recruit a specialist player for a while.

Agree. The way we use our TEs they might as well be in the OL group.

Not mad or judging anyone, but how did that get so 'thrown out there' , yet now reportedly not true?

It was reported by football scoop. It sounds like he is considering several offers.

We are one of several schools including Michigan State he’s thinking about. He hasn’t signed anywhere yet. We aren’t the only school interested in hiring a former DC for Ohio State and Arkansas along with HC experience to just be an assistant.
