Iowa headed to a 6-8 win season and some Iowa fans are losing their minds calling for KF to be canned.

ISU headed to a 7-9 win season and its one of the greatest seasons in school history.

Congrats?

If you can't see how the teams are trending you are crazy. Iowa is trending down, hard. Especially after coming off a 12 win season not even 2 years ago. Iowa State is trending up and has a chance for their most conference wins in the history of the program going into next week and an outside shot (with a lot of help) of playing for the Big 12 championship,

Both teams are relatively meaningless on the national scene as far as playing for a NC, however one team (Iowa) thinks they are relevant nationally and they just aren't. The fans have Nebraska-like expectations but have never won a NC.

One season doesn’t make a trend, and if you look at EIUs history, this season's performance is not abnormal in the context of their cycles. They have an amazing season, followed by a downward trend, and then repeat. Further, they just beat tOSU a couple weeks ago, by a lot. They were one play away from beating PSU earlier this year. They’ve had two bad weeks in a row, one being against Wisconsin. My point is that it’s going a little overboard to call them meaningless, especially (as it seemed to be implied) compared with us. It’s all about expectations driving perspectives, but the reality is, this year, the two teams are comparable. Let’s talk in a couple of years about trends, because we have a long way to go before this season represents a normal trend for us. Why can't we just be happy with our good season without trying to trash them? It's reminiscent of Boston fandom, and is not a particularly good look.

Can't believe we lost to these guys. If we pull that game out they would fighting just to make a bowl next week.

I've tried hard to avoid the "what if?" game, but damn do those Iowa and Texas loses still bug me. Who knows though-- without those loses we may not have wound up where we are now.

Seems that way every year at Iowa. My brother-in-law puts out on FB every time they lose a game they are supposed to win, he immediately calls for Kilmer's head. It got so bad, I finally had to do the old "stay as friends on FB, but not receive posts". He is one of "some" of those Iowa fans. Just got tired of the "when they win they are gods" and when they lose, "fire the entire coach staff", mentality from him.

Thanks, things are really looking good for future seasons. Team is young with another good recruiting class. The culture is in place where there is no team that we can't beat proven with 2 wins over top 5 teams. The 3 loses this year were by only 1 score. Could be looking at 10-1 record with a top 10 CFP ranking with a few plays made here or there. The program is gaining momentum.

CMC has yet to crack the Top 50 in recruiting class rankings so your second sentence doesnt make any sense.

The bolded part is the stupidest thing I have ever read. ISU also won 2 games by one possession. A few plays made by the opponents here or there and you would have to win this weekend to get to 6 wins.
