One of the issues in the fcs is that 24 of 124 teams make the playoffs. That isn't a recipe for parity.

Need to have at least 1/3 of the teams make the post season. And I don't buy a second meaningless tournament.

I don't have time to do it right now, but can someone compile what current FBS playoff field would be with a format similar to FCS?

First and foremost there I'm not an advocate of doing it exactly like the FCS. Secondly you run into some issues: Do you want to stick with the 24 man field? Who gets byes? Are all conferences represented?

I left out some G5 conferences but in the spirit of the FCS style I did give the ones that won their conference and made it a bye.

Byes:
Alabama
Boise St
Miami
Oklahoma
Toledo
UCF
USC
Wisconsin

Top 16 remaining teams(in the interest of time I pulled from last weeks CFP rankings so its not accounting for losses or wins this past week):

Clemson
Auburn
Georgia
Notre Dame
Ohio St
Penn St
TCU
Oklahoma St
Washington St
Miss St
Michigan St
Washington
NC St
LSU
Memphis
Stanford

Damn, did the whole Mizzurah Valley get in?
5 teams made it which is half of the conference. Speaks volumes to how tough the conference is when Youngstown State, who made the title game last year, went 6-5 this year.
