7th at worst and I'm thinking top half of the league. Etch this post in stone.

At some point some teams need to prove they are as good on the court as they seem to be on paper.

Most likely to under-achieve: TCU (I'm not a believer)

I don't buy TCU finishing 3rd, but I'm fairly certain it'll break its 20-year drought and get to NCAA Tournament.

Fun Fact (side-tracking slightly, but with Big 12 tie-in): TCU's most recent NCAA Tournament win over a now-P5 school came in 1968, vs. Kansas State.

So maybe this'll be a 50-year milestone, and TCU will beat a power-5 in the 8/9 or 7/10 game. That's my guess.

Almost every Fred team was picked 8th and our average finishing position in Hoiberg era was 3rd. The 2000 team with Fizer having been freshman of they year in 99 was picked 7th and finished alone in 1st.

Non-McDermott coached ISU basketball teams consistently finish 7-3 spots above this preseason poll. Why? Hilton. The coaches picking us last...we'd have to go like 1-8 or 2-7 at Hilton to be last...what kind of moron thinks that'll happen? To finish 9th? Probably would have to be 3-6 at Hilton, maybe 4-5 if we go 0-9 on the road. I guess it's possible but it seems unlikely. KU should be favored at Hilton against our young team but really not more than that. TCU favored to win at Hilton? Doubtful.

My prediction: 6-3 at Hilton 3-6 on the road. 9-9 right in the middle of the pack and if we're on the bubble or not will depend on non-conf and B12T.

Fred's teams were picked 8th four seasons in a row. At some point this poll is just not very accurate. Picking ISU 9th or 10th means you think the vast majority of the conference is going to win @HILTON. That's rarely a safe bet.

Probably not the correct thread, but did we scrimmage Nebraska yesterday?
