Glad we got the tie, but that AB by Russell was not good. After getting Happ on and a questionable review, you've got to have a better AB. Avila did a great job of moving Happ over.
Yes this pen has given up 2 runs and put itself into some hairy situations, but they have also locked down and been clutch.
Jake left with a 2-1 lead after five, it's not reasonable to expect the pen to throw four shutout innings. And the Cubs really need another reliable reliever to step up, they don't have better options which is why they keep trying Grimm and Wilson in big spots. It's almost to the point that, especially if the Cubs pull it out tonight, do you give Maples a high leverage spot in the next few days?

Aww somebody misses watching his team play meaningful baseball in late September.
The Cardinals don't rub it in like that because they are winners. He wouldn't be a part of the Cardinal Way.
