For sure 3 are Tinsley, Shawn Bankhead and Cato, next I'll go Rahshon Clark (top 15 career steals top 10 career in blocks), and I'll round out with another guard in Thigpen.

Cato, Bankhead, Babb, Homan, Tim Floyd's slow down offense and gimmick defensive schemes.

Only partly kidding on last one. Floyd always had a scheme to take away best player on other team. He once double teamed all conference big man Tony Battie from Tech and left another player unguarded. Unguarded guy had career high 10 or 12 while Battie was held like 15-20 below his average.

Gary Thompkins was a pretty solid defender. I would also throw in Cato for his shot blocking. More recent, Chris Babb.

Babb
Bayless
Cato
Bankhead
Ron Virgil - based on the job he did on Roy Tarpley alone. Found him listed at 6'4, but if so, he was still only about 140 pounds.

Clark comes off the bench.

My 5 -- Limited to players I’ve watched
1. Tinsley
2. Cato
3. Stinson
4. Bayless
5. Ron Harris
Not easy for me for inclusion or ranking. Stats don’t always tell the full story (R. Harris is an example; Babb would be another). At least 5 others I would consider.

Tinsley and Cato for sure. Those are the two best defensive players I've seen play for ISU.

I'm going with 2 Bigs - Cato & Dean Uthoff, Ejim at the 3, with Tinsley and Babb as my guards. The other team rarely ever gets a 2nd chance shot....
