Guys are moving up the team board late this afternoon. Currently back to even and in a tie for 12th place. Nice bounceback by Voke and Sondjaja who are a combined 5 under through 12.
Tied for 15th with only 2 guys still on the course, both on 18. Talk about sweating it out. If our final 2 guys go +1 on their final hole we're out, if they go E or better we're in.
They still have tomorrow I think. I think they cut to 15 after tomorrow and cut to 8 Monday but I think that's cumulative and not just an 18 hole race.
If you would have told me how Voke played, I would have guessed we'd be in bottom third at least. Good work by everyone else to put together some good rounds around par. We're really going to need him tomorrow though.
Well, poop, without a big rally over the last five holes we have shot ourselves out of the tournament.
19 total holes left, need some birdies.
They need to play under par here to make it to tomorrow or they need Alabama and Kent State to play over par which is definitely possible by the looks of the scoring today. Sad part is those teams around 8th gave us a chance to run them down and we haven't been able to.
Finished plus 11. Cut line right now is plus 8. So there's still a chance we can finish 15th.
Despite their elimination in the team competition at the NCAA Championships, there will be a Cyclone playing tomorrow in junior Denzel Ieremia.
Ieremia is one of nine individuals not among the 15 teams advancing who will compete in the medalist race on the final day of stroke play on Monday.
True freshman Tripp Kinney carded a 73 this afternoon to finish the tournament in a tie for 76th place at 221. After opening the round with a bogey, he was even par for the rest of the day.
