Guys are moving up the team board late this afternoon. Currently back to even and in a tie for 12th place. Nice bounceback by Voke and Sondjaja who are a combined 5 under through 12. :)

And just like that, two bogeys. It'd be nice to get a couple coming in to make some other teams have to run us down tomorrow for the top 15 cut.

would be incredible if they make top 15, what a wild format for an 18 hole tourney to cut from 15 to 8.

Tied for 15th with only 2 guys still on the course, both on 18. Talk about sweating it out. If our final 2 guys go +1 on their final hole we're out, if they go E or better we're in.

Sorry I had that wrong. We're in 15th alone. That's a little better situation. Still nail biting time.

They still have tomorrow I think. I think they cut to 15 after tomorrow and cut to 8 Monday but I think that's cumulative and not just an 18 hole race.

If you would have told me how Voke played, I would have guessed we'd be in bottom third at least. Good work by everyone else to put together some good rounds around par. We're really going to need him tomorrow though.

Thanks for clarifying that for me. I thought there was a cut down to 15 after today. Hopefully Voke can get it going tomorrow, that would really help. Thank goodness for the other guys stepping it up.

Solid day but they're going to look at 16 birdies and probably not be too pleased.

Off to a good start at -2 for the day 1-3 holes in. 15 teams chasing us for a top 15 have not teed off yet. We are in 13th.

-4 for the day and moved up to 10th. 6 strokes over the "cut line". Early, 4-6 holes, but great start.

Edit: Dammit, everytime I post good news it is followed by bogeys. Must be a BoxsterCy jinx thing going on here. Back to +2 and closer to that cut line of +4. Our #1 just cannot seem to get it going. Other than the top couple teams no one is going low today. If we can get to even I think we are safe.

Well, poop, without a big rally over the last five holes we have shot ourselves out of the tournament. :(

19 total holes left, need some birdies.

They need to play under par here to make it to tomorrow or they need Alabama and Kent State to play over par which is definitely possible by the looks of the scoring today. Sad part is those teams around 8th gave us a chance to run them down and we haven't been able to.

#3 and #4 players have done their job, kinda surprising that our #1 and #2 are bogeying us out of making the cut.

Finished plus 11. Cut line right now is plus 8. So there's still a chance we can finish 15th.

I don't care how good you are, what level you play at, whether trying to break 100 for the first time or break 70 in a tournament.....those last 3.4.5 holes get really, really, hard. that's golf.

still a phenomenal season for a great group of kids.

And we are not all done, Denzel Ieremia made the cut as an individual. :)

Despite their elimination in the team competition at the NCAA Championships, there will be a Cyclone playing tomorrow in junior Denzel Ieremia.

Ieremia is one of nine individuals not among the 15 teams advancing who will compete in the medalist race on the final day of stroke play on Monday.

http://www.cyclones.com/news/2017/5...th-ieremia-advances-at-ncaa-championship.aspx

Also had a freshman who played well returning. Our only Iowan (Waukee) and a true freshman. Great start for his career and great experience for this young man.

True freshman Tripp Kinney carded a 73 this afternoon to finish the tournament in a tie for 76th place at 221. After opening the round with a bogey, he was even par for the rest of the day.
