Here's Dennis Dodd's preseason ranking ...

They were really close in 4 of their losses. and in the Nebraska game they were in it in the 4th quarter. I am a big fan of their coach and I see them as a team that will continue to ascend. But they don't have a huge margin for error.

I like their coach as well and their schedule sets up for them to win a good amount of games, but any team lower than ISU in some 2016 power ratings I am a little skeptical on.

Their QB should give them a chance though.

I was curious what that third poll was because it certainly seemed to have more than its share of outliers in the rankings. I should have known.

The Corn made the list. Whew! Did you find them? It's been almost two decades since they won a conference crown. My gosh! That move to the Big 10 has really upgraded, hasn't it.

And can you find the others who exited for self-betterment? Perhaps they left more than they thought.

OU gets no respect while UT gets too much. What else is new?

Need to have OU do something consistently on the national level before they earn anything higher than they are.

In years when they're ranked high, they get punked at least once and have a tendency to suck in big bowl games.

They've also been in some games like vs. Tech last year that were an embarrassment to the game.
