Outside of fizer who was the last forward to have as good of a season as ejim is having? I think he's having a better year than brackins' junior year.

Royce White had a pretty good year leading our team in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks - I'd say his season is better than what Brackins did or Ejim is doing...

Ejim's season stands up pretty well.

He's right there with all of those guys. I just wish we could be watching Royce White play in the NBA right now. He was some kind of special player that I've never seen before. I can't compare his game to anyone else's. He's so big and physical, yet can handle the ball like a PG and pass as well as anyone I've ever seen. He was SO much fun to watch.

He and Fizer seemed similar to me in a lot of ways. Fizer could dribble, but didn't have too much because we had Tinsley to do that. Yeah wish we could have hung onto both of them another year, but can't blame either one for moving on.

Can we quit trying to compare guys when it's not a whole season?

There's a reason they are called "SEASON STATS"

Brackins sophomore year was pretty beastly. It'd be tough for Melvin to top those but he gets extra bonus points for doing it on a good team.

Dude, don't even go there. Almost 14 years later and it still hurts too much and is better to not talk about... Every Cyclone (that is now) over the age of 25 has fantasized about being Preseason #1 in '00-'01 with Fizer returning. '99-'00 is the best team Iowa State has ever put on the court (without a ******* doubt) and was the 2nd best team in the country if playing at the Palace in Auburn Hills, Michigan. If you ask this biased fan, we were the best team in the country that tournament.

On the topic of comparing Ejim to Fizer... they are not comparable. The idea of comparing them seems silly, and that is not an insult aimed at Melvin. Fizer was the best player in college basketball by a fair amount (outside of an injured Kenyon Martin). I could go on and on (and will if my point is challenged) about how good Fizer was, but I will leave it for now.

This. Fizer could dominate a game all by his lonesome. Melvin is great: he hustles, he does a lot of different things darn well, and we'd be hurting without him, but he is stoppable. Fizer was unstoppable.

This reminds me of the Tinsley vs Kane discussion some while back. Stats don't tell the whole story.
