Women's Wrestling: The Basics

I've read this before (maybe from you), but never any specifics. I went to McKendree and NC's websites and although it doesn't list their ages, it does list their year of eligibility. Checked Bella Mir as she is one of the more notable (from a name recognition standpoint) and she's bounced around a bit. But she's 22 and listed as a Senior, so not really out of line.

Do you have specific examples of them taking advantage of these 'loopholes'? I'm not saying you're wrong, just that I couldn't find any in my limited research.
In my opinion, it won’t matter. Alli will be trying to bring in world class wrestlers, so age doesn’t matter.

I know naia has loopholes on years. The only loopholes I would say D2/3 has (they are NCAA) are lower academic requirements

Some conferences have enough participating members to have their own championship, but qualifications are done through regionals.
6 regions and top 3 per weight in each region qualified for this year's NCAA tournament

Dan Gable statement

“At historic times in wrestling, moves are made at the collegiate level that have enhanced the great sport of wrestling,” Gable said in a statement. These moves have affected all levels of the sport worldwide. The addition of women’s wrestling at Iowa State University will be the next catalyst to help a sport that is always looking for enhancement.

“This provides an opportunity to build on our state’s great history in collegiate wrestling with the women’s programs leading the pack. Big moves are being made with both genders and the U of Iowa and Iowa State can lead the momentum that the state of Iowa deserves.”

That's great and all...but I'm petty enough and hate that other school enough that I'm annoyed he mentioned them .
