WBB: 2026 Transfer Portal

Money, they have bought there teams since the new coach had come too town.
Of course, just responding to poster who claimed only SEC and B10 programs have the money to do what TCU is doing.

What’s weird is that their MBB and FB programs haven’t done likewise nearly to the extent of WBB. IMO, it’s not all money and a lot to do with their staff.

Guess you can add in private schools with a base of wealthy donors to pay NIL.

Old article -- guessing the $ is even more now...

The increase to TCU’s 2026-27 tuition will allow “the university to maintain and advance TCU’s standard of excellence in academics and student experience, while addressing economic factors that impact operational costs,” according to the first email.

Tuition is currently $63,500 and will increase to around $66,500 the next academic year.

For context, the average cost of tuition for private colleges in the nation is a little over $43,000, the most expensive being University of Southern California at over $75,000, according to Business Insider. TCU is still more expensive than Harvard.
What they don’t tell you, and this is VERY common in privates, is that the posted tuition is NEVER what you actually pay. It’s far, far lower. Privates do a song and dance to put together financial packages for every student that usually puts them more in line with peer institutions.

But you don’t get the all star players they’ve had without the money. No doubt the staff has done a fine job coaching and recruiting, but the money has to be there to close the deal.

I know way less than most of you about WBB, and I only watched a few games this season, but I was always shocked at how inefficient she was. Maybe Mulkey will fix her and get her more looks around the hoop, but her jump shooting was beyond streaky, it just wasn’t very good

She came in as a floor general and not a scorer. The injury to Brown really opened the door for her to chuck shots up. And yes…she was streaky as heck. What she did well was dish the ball.

Be interesting to see what happens, I think Van Lith would have alot to say about Mulkey and getting "fixed", she became a much worse player at LSU.

From the LSU message board:

McGill is asking teams for 1.5 million dollars and Kymora is likely headed to SC. I do think that’s why mulkey jumped on Jada Williams so quick.

Richard totally surprised LSU & left after one school offered a lucrative NIL deal worth over 400K. LSU set up the visit with Jada Williams later that day and signed her to get a average pg with experience.

So it makes sense to go after Williams if there isn't a suitable backup option, but I probably would've pushed hard for McGill first.
