WBB: 2026 Transfer Portal

Realistically they never play more than 8. If you end up with 10 players that's all they need give them all a little bigger slice of the payment pie.
Yeah, you really don't even need 10 as they practice against male students. Use revenue share spread out over the best 10 players instead of 13-15, and let's give it a go. By capping at 10 instead of more, each player gets more $ and theoretically, you get better players for the higher $ each (plus everyone get playing time).

I mean, you could go even fewer, but then you run risk of being shorthanded if injuries/illness occur.

We have 4, hoiberg has went with 4 before, so we wouldn’t be the first.

Maybe we don’t care to have walk on’s anymore, but it feels like you could have 10 “real” recruits and just have a few more walk on types in case of emergency.

Typically, WBB gives scholarships to all roster spots because of Title IX. Easy way to get women's scholly count up.

In the past that wasn’t the case. We would have a walk on and at some point if they stuck with it and worked hard they might get a scholarship for a semester. But walk ons seem to have disappeared with NIL.

She will maybe get a look from teams that recruited her out of HS. She was an ESPN ranked recruit out of HS. She was not going to make it off the bench after Houston played well this year and with their top recruit coming in at same position. Wisconsin bound?

I'd be interested to know what % of that 1,000 or whatever the final number ends up being represents players who have already been in the portal at least one other time. Those are the ones who are making this such a joke, the habitual transfer portal players. I'd be 100% behind a policy that says you get 1 free transfer in your 4 years of eligibility, except those who demonstrate some extreme/hardship situation that would warrant a second transfer.
