If she likes (or at least tolerates) CBF fine and likes Iowa State, it really makes a lot of sense to stay. The coaching staff is familiar with her, she has a real chance at playing time, and if she has issues with the coaching staff they are likely gone after next season anyway.

Another thing that sucks with this NIL era is when you have popular players leave that you bought their merchandise. My girls both have Audi and Addy's shirts and now they are pretty much worthless to wear at ISU games. That's what sucks too is when you have to tell your young daughters that their favorite player is leaving and try to explain to them why.

That is crushing for these young girls that are fans of certain players. Young kids just don't understand it like we do and it's heart breaking for them to see their favorite player leave. You can bet that we will probably buy our girls AJ shirts before the season and support that wonderful young woman that wants to be a Cyclone for her entire career. That's about the only positive I can muster up right now is we as fans need to rally around AJ and show our appreciation to her dedication to our program.

I haven't met many college level athletes who don't prioritize winning.

The rebuild is huge. But the portal era makes bringing in 10 players very doable. And I'm sure a HOF coach like CBF looks at the rebuild as a challenge and opportunity.

TJ has had teams with a handful of returning players. Johnny Dawkins got UCF to the tournament with total roster turnover.

In some ways, a complete rebuild might be easier than a pivot with 3-4 returning players.

Yeah, probably won't happen or hasn't happened, but if you're gonna ride this out one more year with the Fennelly family, underclassmen transfers available and high school recruiting could benefit from having the HC-in-waiting hired and declared (at least internally).

I would think the transfer portal would not be kind to her. She doesn’t have the relationships that other players have from growing up in the US. She doesn’t have any real film from last year to sale herself. Bill needs bodies. She may go from the end of the bench to a player in the rotation.

This is why I wouldn’t be surprised if Bill now wants to coach a few more years rather than just one. It potentially makes finding transfers easier.

Also, I believe international players can't get NIL, not that it would be a big issue for her since she wouldn't really command much at this point.

I think Blum said that changed at some point but I don’t know.
