***NCAA Wrestling - Session 6 (Saturday, 5:30pm CT)***

My novice opinion is Bastida had 5 minutes to get a takedown so he didn’t have you go neutral at all. He had one at the end of the first but ran out of time. 5-8 more seconds and that’s 3.

I agree he did not get a takedown in the second as he only had one leg but how did he not get back points after he wrapped his hand around the guys neck when trumbles on his back for a few seconds???

After he struggled to get out from bottom in the second dresser made the right call by telling him to go neutral to start the 3rd. Bastida owns that loss completely. Hes been the best neutral wrestler by far all year and 1 point wasn’t going to help him.
Get off dressers ass, he knew that wasn’t a takedown and that’s why he was hesitant to throw it.
In conclusion, **** **** ****!!!
Once he didn’t get a TD in the first I knew it was go down to either OT or Trumble was gonna ride him out.

Didn’t have control, needed to get a danger count to get any back points.

It happens. Sometimes a kid has a bad qualifying tournament and gets a lower seed. Other kids just perform better when the lights are brightest. Sometimes there are upsets along the way that can make your path easier. These are elite athletes, and on a good day anyone can beat someone else. That is why repeat champions are so revered.

Thanks, greatly appreciate it… The reason I was so shocked is because I do follow it close enough, meaning this time of year, and I don’t remember the last time I saw a double digit seed beat the Penn State machine. Those kids hardly ever lose it seems and that kid looked awesome. He didn’t get lucky.
What’s even worse is they have unlimited $$$ to spend on every highly talented fresh available

Just thinking this….4 Frosh to the finals, 3 won… they are a player. And I’m gonna tell you it doesn’t hurt my feelings at all. I would love to see somebody go ahead to head with Penn State.

3 true freshman, 1 redshirt. Point stands though, OSU and PSU are head and shoulders above anyone else right now.

Thanks for the correction, and yes it appears they are. Now from what I’ve heard even predeceasing NIL, PSU had some built in advantages with how their wrestling club is set up, meaning they have been paying players for a longtime, so I’m assuming Taylor brought some of PSU with him, but honestly. It is what it is, if you can do it, then here we are…

I’m less of a hater/bitcher/whiner than I was even a few years ago. Sports is big money and I keep watching it. You kind of lose your right to ***** if you are still watching. WE ARE ULTIMATELY THE PROBLEM….if we quit, then they have no audience to pay their bills…

And rivalries are tired….yes I get it, but Ive had enough heart break in my life based on sports, I don’t generally wish that on even my most hated rival anymore…
