Pants' weekly (?) "what unknown song are you listening to" thread

  • After Iowa State won the Big 12, a Cyclone made a wonderful offer to We Will that now increases our match. Now all gifts up to $400,000 between now and the Final 4 will be matched. Please consider giving at We Will Collective.

I've started one of these a few times. If it's popular enough, I'll just do one weekly. Anyway, you can post ONE song of a relatively unknown song you like. I've got an eclectic taste and always like getting recommendations from people. Can be old or new song. Personally, I like more unknown musicians, but only because I'm greedy and their concert tickets are usually cheaper.

not an unknown song, but a relatively unknown artist. Really like the feel of this cover.

Heard this on Chris Carter's British Invasion show.

I was familiar with the Colin Blunstone version but not this, the original from 1967

Denny Laine, for those unfamiliar, was the voice on the Moody Blues version of "Go Now" and was the longest running member of Wings not named McCartney

A nice piece of pop sweet candy.

From the "Running Back Through Canada" Tour, which is an awesome concert if you can find it on DVD. Guitar solo by Randy Bachman...

I am MAYBE more excited about the upcoming Black Joe Lewis concert than any of the big festivals we're going to:

I've enjoyed Hudson Bell for a while now. I just stumbled onto one of his more recent songs that I like (love his old stuff).

Nice. The title track and "4th of July" are great, too.

A couple others are strong, too. "You," 2nd track, is solid, among others.

I tended to dismiss that album a little, since it was first without Billy Zoom. That probably was too narrow-minded opinion.

For how "late-80s alt-rock" SHWA studio production is, it has aged quite well.

Not really that new, but new to me. Found this the other day and really liked it.
