Race Thompson would wash the taste of this hit-or-miss spring out of everybody's mouths (save Shayok, who will be a beast in two years, and I think Jacobson is going to be a contributor) this fall really quickly. I hope those two were pals/would like to be on the same team.

"Same grassroots program as Race Thompson." Call me dumb, I don't understand that comment. I know their schools aren't far apart, but am I missing some other connection? Or did Hines mean "similar type of grassroots program"?

Sorry if I sound clueless here, or if I'm reading too much into it.

I'm pretty sure they both played for the same AAU team D1 Minnesota.

You know, he's not a bad player. He's not athletic enough to contribute major minutes but he'll shoot it, handle it pretty well and he'll make the starters work in practice. Seems like a pretty good kid, too.
