County apparently decided to get rid of used oil by oiling all the blacktops. Never seen this before
They used to oil the blacktop when I grew up. Everyone hated it. They would spray oil and then sand on top. Then you would drive on it and get it on your car

Not exactly sure.
I think we may be getting either another graduation or wedding invite. This is getting nutty. I’m not the wedding type but we seem to get invited to a lot.

Was wondering what's up with house next door and finally found a short paragraph long obit on the neighbor guy. He was only 43 so would have been only 28-29 when he bought that house in 2010. Since his vehicle is still sitting in the driveway, and no ones been over there in over a month, I am guessing he had no will and the house is going through the full state run probate thingie and/or the bank is in the process of repossessing the house. At least with no rain the grass is mostly dead and not growing so doesn't look bad.

In Iowa you can look on Iowa land records and it will tell you if there is a mortgage against the house. Would think in 15 years, he would have a large amount of equity in it (especially with the prices shooting up). Could be just the probable situation happening and the house will go up for sale. If they are out of state, it can take longer. If it wouldn’t have been for the hoops we had to jump through, my moms estate could have been squared away in a month or two.

Or, he could have borrowed against the house and been upside down since his business went under. That's how the house was owned by the bank in 2010 even though my friends had lived there for over 30 years, they got buried by medical and business debt and lost the house after borrowing against it. FYI: house was $400k in 2010 and now is appraised at $800k. Was a bit of a bank buy deal in 2010 even though it did need some work/maintenance stuff.
