Lack of rebounds is a big issue.. You are not going to get 29 turnovers in most games to offset the beatdown on the boards, especially the 16 offensive ones.
The game against BYU last year was similar. Although we didn’t get down quite as much. They wilted at the end and didn’t make a basket in the last 5 (our pressure was insane). Had a bad feeling with how they’ve been playing and what was on the line. Have to hand it to them after coming way back I liked or chances, but BYU found a way. ISU has to do better boxing out and rebounding or they’re not winning games.
Nice to see the boys fight back. The number of just brain dead plays they make though is mind boggling.
Toward the end they got a little iffy. Especially the bail out call when Saunders drove the lane. Was that at the end of regulation?
Yes outrebounded by 28, but the smaller lineup produced nearly 20 more turnovers. That tradeoff resulted in a 17 point advantage in points off turnovers.
We had the easiest schedule of any team in the entire Big 12 also. Sickening.Started off Big12 play 7-1 and very realistic chance we end 12-8
This team needs to get 3 more wins (kstate, Wed vs okst/cinci, Thu vs byu) to gain some winning confidence. Otherwise, that 1st rd ncaa game vs a #12,13,14 seed could be scary
Is there are team out there that is worse when they have the ball in the final seconds of the game than us? We had the ball 3 times at the end to win the game between regulation and the overtimes, and got nothing, not even a good shot at the rim, let alone hit the shot.
Gilbert needs to drive the ball to the hoop there at the end, if he wants to be the man, than that means stepping up and carrying the team at the end in crunch time. Great comeback and it's wasted.

Crazy that this season to be honest has largely been a disappointment if you think about the ceiling we could achieve.
However, the story is all written at the dance. Think about those teams that get a 1 or 2 seed that lose the second round. They're 28-5 and poof gone. We can be a 3 or 4 seed and go on a run and that's ultimately how we're judged.

Honest question - in clutch time this year, how many times have guys actually made a shot rather than turned it over? The only one I can think is Jefferson @ Tech and even then, the clock almost expired, he barely got it off in time.
