One thing about TJ is his teams suck terribly in February. Hes .500 in February during his time here, not exactly ideal but we’ve made a few sweet 16s so who knows.

Blum has had a few tweets hinting at needing to pony up big time to keep Jefferson. I wouldn’t be surprised if we can’t pay what it takes to keep him.

That is helpful perspective, as I hadn't realized that. Honestly helps me process the crap I saw on the court tonight. Something systemic is taking place, and it's not just a "we need to go back to Ames and practice hard and watch film" type of answer.

The team either figures it out or they don't.

They came out flying around a bit Saturday. They're just kind of a Jekyl/Hyde bunch. It happens at about every single basketball program no matter who is coaching.

That stat points to a lack of depth for the team plus running a rotation that wears out the starters at the end of the season. Tonight was a prime example. Lipsey had no energy, but TJ had no other options but to keep playing him.

One thing I think is missing compared to last year’s team is the tenacity and effort given consistently each game start to finish

I posted in the Maui game threads that Jackson/Jefferson and Chatfiled weren't going to cut it on D. I guess I had hoped they improved over the course of the season but that hasn't been the case.

We really miss BRE and Ward on D this season.
