Some Tang post-game comments. Sounds like a guy that doesn't have any answers.

How many of us Cyclone fans would have been okay with Prohm saying these types of things even the YEAR BEFORE he was canned? The answer is ZERO. Tang isn't a first year coach taking over a first-year-in-D1 program or taking over a team that was 2-22 the previous year. He has been the one in charge for a few years now & even took his team to the Elite 8. This over-praising of an opponent reeks of desperation & something a captain might say to reassure his passengers even though he knows the ship is sinking.

Agree. These are things you say after a close game. Not after a 30 point blow out at home.

Good team or not that is unacceptable for K State. Not a single shred of accountability take himself which is - of course - not surprising.

He ******* leveraged the Arkansas job for a new contract 7 months ago. And now is talking like this. And he has a 4 million dollar NIL roster (top 3 or 4 in the league I would think). GTFO with this weak **** Tang. What a ******* loser.

I hope they accidentally make the sweet 16 next year as an 11 seed just so we can restart the clock on Tangs time at KSU.

They aren’t going to sniff the NCAA tournament (or any post season). They are getting blown out regularly but both good and bad teams, are 7-8 overall, and in second to last place in the conference.

Very unfortunate that Tang had this much bad luck this year so far with a top NIL roster, an easy-ish schedule, and a great home court advantage. Definitely isn’t him and there is absolutely no blame on the head coach for a season like this.

Does anyone think Tang would improve if he went to confession and told the priest that he lied about all the Iowa State stuff? He's being smited now and I think if he just came clean with the big guy, he would begin to be blessed again.
no. once a ****, always a ****. he just sped up the awareness of the league for who he really is. i guarantee that he is the punch line in a joke between the other 15 coaches.

It takes big ones to talk about how your roster is poor when the NIL supporters gave you millions of $ to pay the players you wanted. If I were to guess, I think KSU spends a lot more on NIL for its MBB team than Houston.

If I were a KSU donor I wouldn't give that guy another dime with his after game comments yesterday.

The only way that happens is an auto bid from winning the Big 12 tourney
So, win seven games in a row (5 at big 12s and 2 more in the tourney) LOL

Side note, I really like how the big 12 has the tourney bracket setup. Bottom 8 teams play for the opportunity to advance to play teams seeded #5-8 in second round. Those winners then play the top four teams in the quarterfinals.

The $2m for Hawkins (is that known to be accurate?) was a shocking number to me. Kansas State really has that kind of NIL money?

they made a big deal out of the 'NIL investment' ($4 million plus annually) they were making in basketball as part of his new contract after he was cheating on them with arkansas before coach cal took the job. he totally fleeced KSU. if it were a professional sports organization, the gm would be updating his resume.

They probably should start pooling that NIL money for something else. Per KC Star this summer:

Should K-State choose to make a coaching change before April 30, 2026, it would owe Tang $18.7 million. That number begins to drop annually from there. The Wildcats would owe him $15.75 million the following year, then $12.75 million, then $9.7 million, then $6.5 million and finally $4.4 million or the remaining unpaid base salary on his contract in the final year of his deal.

It seems like they are stuck with him for at least this year plus 2, maybe 3 or 4. You just hate to see it.
