Woke up to fire, ambulance etc. at the house behind us. Texted the neighbor we are close with and they were taking someone out on the stretcher. Fired up the scanner and they were taking not one but two fire paramedics with them to the hospital....one happens sometimes with trauma events for an extra set of hands. Not sure I have ever heard two going though...

I ended up making a batch of chili in the crockpot yesterday. I prepped it in the morning and let it simmer all day. I had two bowls for lunch and another bowl for dinner. Not the wisest choice because it got very windy later that evening.

First time I've ever raised my voice to a lady on the phone. Seems a loan I have had with Greater Credit Union of Iowa since 2021 has me at an address that I have never lived at. They have my name, DOB, and SSN, but not having the correct address down still would not allow me to access my account. I have a doc from 2021 with all the information they asked for. I have lived in Ames since '84 and they said my address changed in August of '24. After a series of questions to verify my existence as a human being, they still denied me access as 2/3 of the questions I couldn't answer since none of the answers matched any of the vehicles I had previously owned. Onto a second set of questions of which I could not answer one of the questions, but I passed and they successfully updated my address email and phone.

I went on their webpage to access everything....... and yet again I was denied as the phone number they put down was wrong. I called them back and got a different gal this time, and yes it was not her fault, but she asked for my address of which I politely gave to her and yet again...... it brought up some bogus address that I never lived at. That was the final straw....with my voice up a couple decibles, I explained what I went through the last 30 minutes to the first gal to get my info updated. She told me that she was going to have to get with first gal I talked with to figure out what happened.

I got a call back and the gal told me that there was a "glitch" in their system and all my info I had provided earlier was now updated. I have not tried to access my account after the call. How does a credit union of which I have a document with my SSN, phone number, and address, all of the sudden not have your address? It just really set me off.

Update: They still had the wrong phone number on my account!!

Not exactly sure.

This morning I got woke up with a call from the podiatry office about my visit for my annual ankle reset. The doc who did the surgery left McFarland early in 2024, and they called in March to change my provider over to the surgeon's replacement. We discussed the fact that I was one of the "special" patients with a replacement ankle, and I asked at the time if the new doc would know anything about the procedure. I was assured that she did, so I went ahead and scheduled the recheck with her. I also asked if they knew where my surgeon had gone, and at that time they did not know.
The call this morning was because the new doc apparently looked at her schedule for tomorrow and saw that I was a recheck, and told the front desk to call me & cancel the appt because SHE DOESN'T WANT TO DO THOSE RECHECKS. I get that she's not familiar with the surgery, but no-one did a search when she made that decision, to notify us? I mean, my original doc only did about 20-25 of these replacements before he left. We can't be THAT hard to find.

However, there is good news. They did pass on the fact that my original doc is now practicing out of Mary Greeley so I can go back to seeing him. Just a lot of stuff to hit me with, first thing in the morning.

I think today is a good day to wear that t-shirt.

The "she" you are referring sounds like Dr. Pyle. I knew that Dr. Gilarski was retiring, so my reoccuring ankle issues (of which he did three surgeries on), I asked for her, but she had to approve me first. I will say she took a lot of X-rays of my ankle of which is becoming arthritic. I learned more from her on this visit, so much so that doing what she told me to do, has paid off, swelling and pain has gone way down. She does seem to be "rushed" though.

I don't remember his your Dr. name, but he was suppose to replace the retiring Gilarski, and they hired Dr. Pyle, but then he quit suddenly. Gilarski said he would stay on for another year part time until they hired someone else.

From one ankle patient to another.... I know how you feel.

I’m lost.
He said my doc quit at McFarland. He didn't quit. He was pushed out. If he had quit he wouldn't be practicing next door at Mary Greeley 8 months later due to the "non compete" contract clause that most if not all McFarland physicians sign.
My dermatologist and my original podiatrist (who referred me to Cain) both left McFarland, and had a radius (not sure how big) that they had to be outside of with their new practices. They both ended up in West Des Moines for five years. Now one is in Ankeny, and the other is in Ames.

Ok, for some reason I didn’t put the two posts together.

On a related side note, didn’t non competes get struck down?

No, it was challenged and is working its way through the courts. And may not apply to them anyway (there were exceptions but not sure if they apply here)
Yeah I have a friend in the medical field that has one in place but after talking with a lawyer they determined it would be tough for it to stand up in court as it goes beyond being reasonable. Something like 300 mile radius or something.

Got a ticket this morning from offshore about getting an alert for some regions that were decommissioned. They were decommissioned last February and they were getting a daily alert that the regions were not active. So after 11 months they decide to ask if the alerts can be stopped.

I have to do my last self evaluation. Kind of hard to answer questions like this
"What is one area that you should improve to make you more effective in your role?"
