We are all counting 9-3 regular plus a hypothetical bowl game win as a "10-win season", right?

Excluding 1906 when we played the likes of Cornell, Coe, Morningside, Grinnell, and Drake, Iowa State has never won nine regular-season games, both 2000 and 2020 teams had eight regular-season wins then won their bowl game to get to nine wins.
Yes for sure. Postseason stats and losses count toward the season total, so a win does too.

Will the hawk fan at the office pretend they don’t agree? Also yes for sure.

Four out of their 11 proudly-claimed seasons of 10+ wins got to 10 by winning a bowl game, but I'm sure the Tavern Hawks would still condemn it.

True Story:

Wife sent to bed when it was 17-10, so I headed to the Pub to watch the end of the game.

Sat down, and a few minutes later somebody (wearing a CatLyn Clark t-shirt) sat next to me on my left. Fussed about the ISU black uniforms. He was a Panther-Hawk. Got a little testy and explained that plenty of teams across the country wear black because of the kids, and none of those teams need to run it by the Hawkeyes.

Kept chirping, and I told him that Iowa could wear paisley and purple, and ISU would still be wearing black tonight for reasons that had NOTHING to do with Iowa. I also mentioned about Iowa copying the Steelers uniforms in the early Fry days. He finally conceded the point, and we moved on.

JFC, what is wrong with these Tavern Hawks and in this case a Tavern Panther-Hawk! Bought him a drink though - just to be nice. Ended okay.

**** 'em.

BTW, the Jameson and Ginger was good and flowing.

Let's Go State! 8-2 *******! Let's beat the Utes to a pulp next week.

:)

You should have laid him out

Sanders is tearing it up for New Mexico. 942 yards on 130 carries on the season.

He’s a big reason why they’re 1 win away from bowl eligibility when they were projected to be the worst FBS team in the country

Sanders was the one I was disappointed with. Norton didn’t do much for me.

I glanced at the CyTown webcam before the came. Was a bit surprised to see some empty spaces in the lots I could see.

Then after the game, I see the attendance was only 52,881. That surprised me a little, too. Well…their loss? Turned out to be a good game.

I think it's extra incentive for KU against CU because KU is still fighting for a bowl game.
Yeah, hate we gave up control our own destiny (mainly Tech....I'll give KU the win as we were flat). BUT, hope CU loses and we at least have a chance....again, starts with Utah and then would love to bury KSU.
If we end up tied for 2nd or in 3rd and no championship, it'll sting....but....championship teams do what they need to do

I think many are tired of the night games, we lost two in a row ( one fans got rained on all 2nd half), and weather is a little iffy. I thought the crowd was fine and made good noise
Yeah,.I'm with ya. Enough of our fans are from a couple hours away....can't expect them to be at them all or buy single game tickets for a colder, night game (and let's be honest, last couple games shakey) and expect to either spend big bucks for a hotel or get home in the middle of the night

What was the deal with the Cincinnati team huddling around the officials after a penalty flag was thrown? Was it to try and intimidate them?

That team was real chippy and seemed like ********. The little scuffle after one of Noel's catches was annoying too.

Crowd was dissaponting tonight. Great game by the team though. I hope we aren't so spoiled as a fanbase that we aren't willing to show up for a 7-2 team.

I understand all the reasons for the ****** crowd, but it is still slightly disappointing. A 7-2 Iowa State team is pretty ******* rare and we owed it to this team to try and get them over the hump.

But, selfishly, games are a lot easier as a fan without a full house. Parking is easier. There's more room in the stands, etc.
