Lack of Talent in DM Area Junior Class in football?

does anyone think that? While the DM Area Schools have won like 6 out of the last 10, it seems like the current juniors don't have a lot of talent. No one from there has been offered a DI scholly yet. Valley usually has some DI recruits in each grade, but there isn't a whole lot in the junior class other than maybe Nelson.

On the other hand, you could say that it is because it is 11 months until signing day 2010 so a lot of players haven't gotten offers yet.

Here are some DM Area players that I think might get a DI offer.

Mike Chia RB/DB/P/PR Indianola
Chad Owens Dual Threat QB/WR/DB/KR/PR Waukee
Grant Riesberg OG/DE Dowling

QB Kody Ingle from SE Polk could probably get a DI offer, but he most likely will play basketball in college.

the junior class is pretty talented over all don't know about d-1 talent for scholarships but there are a few guys who could get preferred walk on's and the class of 2011 is pretty damn talented

I only know a lot about waukee players, and I would say Chad Owens is the only D-1 worthy player. I know that Chad was at the ISU junior day, and we are his #1 choice if he gets an offer.

Chad is a really good athlete, but undersized. He is only 5'7" and around 155 lbs, but runs a 4.4 and has really good moves. Was terrific running the spread option for Waukee last year and will take over the starting QB job full time this next season.

He's too small to play QB at the Big 12 level, but i could see him as a very good weapon as a slot WR, because he has tremendous speed and good moves, and his small size makes him a small target for tacklers

There is always a lack of talent in Des Moines high schools, considering it's the biggest metro area in the state.

cycloneman, I have seen Owens play and he doesn't run a 4.4. Grant Mayfield doesn't even run a 4.4. Owens runs more like a 4.7. The fastest guy on their team was the FS. His name was like Thompson or something. I would guess he has a 4.6. Also Owens isn't 5'7. He's 5'10.

say what you want big dog. i see the kid every day. hes 5'7", 5'8" max.... and sam thompson is not that fast. Owens, Knott, Woods all are faster than him. Owens being the fastest out of all of them.

you can trust me on waukee info dude... considering i watch every game and know most the team personally. just watch the video of the SEP game when waukee first started running the speed option and you will see how explosive Owens is on the ground. Size is a problem for him

I played for waukee. Owens ran a 4.7 without pads. He's too small to play d1. And he was like 5 ft 9 a or 5 ft 10

Do you realize how fast 4.4 is?
yepp and i know that its a lot slower in pads etc. but he has insane speed. guys that size dont go to BCS schools unless they are fast as hell, and he was at our junior day and has been talked to quite a bit from Iowa as well

well i was talking to Deatrick (LB going to SW Baptist) and he said chad can run a 4.4, but isnt sure if D-1 schools will want him because of his size
