I don't know any of the specifics about this situation or why they didn't play so I'm not commenting on this situation specifically. I just hope the coaching staff doesn't have a blanket policy of if you are thinking about or want to transfer then you can't play. I think a player is perfectly capable of wanting to transfer but still can finish out the season and play just as hard for their team and themselves. Again, I don't know what happened with Sanders and Norton and it could have been their decisions for all I know. Just saying I hope we don't have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to guys who are thinking about leaving.
I hear you, but it would also be pretty difficult to maintain the type of culture you want if you keep guys in the locker room that aren't fully committed.

I said "thinking about or want to transfer".
Do I need to be pedantic and say that I doubt it was merely “thinking about or wanting to”?

On top of that, I feel like some folks need to understand something.

If a kid who has clearly indicated they want to transfer sees reps in “one last game” and is hurt in that game…ISU is on the hook for medical expenses.

Can you see why that doesn’t fly?

I doubt cmc took into account medical liability. He did what he did to win, either now or long term as a culture.

That's a very good point.

On a side note PedantiCy would be your perfect username.

You started out pedantic so you may as well keep rolling with it.

The medical expense argument is interesting, although I highly doubt that is part of the coaching staffs calculus. If that was something that was on their mind there are a whole bunch of situations where you wouldn't play players, and I've never once heard of that as a reason for a player not playing. Could happen but I doubt it.

Who corrected who?

I didn’t mean it to be a primary factor. Or specifically for the coaches. However, I’d guess it’s something the Athletic Department factors into the equation overall.

If they weren't going to be the feature back here there's nothing wrong with going somewhere else to try to do it, they only have so much time to play. They put in hard minutes for us.
Except quitting on team and themselves at isu. Football is the ultimate team game. Even pay for play won’t change that. By transferring they are quitting on themselves getting better and taking more playing time. They leave cause it’s the easy way out. They made decision to come here for a reason. They quit on that reason

You feel the same about Campbell and the USC job or do you hold the players to a different standard?

We don’t really know how much he was or wasn’t talking to USC.

So I'm assuming you've never changed jobs?

This is just silly. You commit to a school as a 18-19 year old kid. Sometimes it doesn't work out. Sometimes it isn't what you thought it would be based on your couple visits to the school. It happens. We are allowed in any other sector of society to move on from something we aren't happy with. Job, schools, marriages, etc. Why is a football team any different?
