Why do I feel like Donnie Jennert would say that (probably not him).I remember Todd Blythe had a teammate from Texas (didn't make it very long), that would complain it was too cold out in August.

Still on the team, but not sure he sticks around if he’s pretty much guaranteed to be (at best) #3.Is Arlen Harris still on the team? RB's depth chart would be 1) Sama 2) Hansen 3) Harris 4) Walk on for the bowl game . Next year add Dylan Lee. That looks like a good position group.

That's a totally understandable position in my opinion (as I'm shivering in my home office in the basement).Norton from Georgia
Sanders from Cali
Riding the bench in below freezing temperatures and snow.
Too cold for them!
One thing not mentioned or worth hashing over now, but we definitely averted disaster on Saturday. They were both running the ball well too. That's unfortunate and might have been a disaster if Sama got hurt Sat.
EDIT: I forgot about Hansen but still...
Might as well. Might be a long winter for the MBB team.Insert Tamin Lipsey as RB3 please (just don't get hurt)![]()
Apples and Oranges my friendDidn't seem to bother Rocco & Brenden Black.
Best wishes to the both of them. They ran hard and will be solid backs somewhere else. Homeboy Sama is the future.
Agree 100%. They gave good years to the program and played hard when given opportunities. At one point, Norton was anointed as the future (early in the 2022 season IIRC). I feel like both have P5 skills so not sure what they're looking for. Bell cow type RB's are rare, even for NFL teams anymore.Didn't seem to bother Rocco & Brenden Black.

Harris has played some this year. Not sure he'd transfer again, as I think he'd have to sit a year. Does kind of suck if he gave up a Stanford degree just to sit on the bench for the most part at ISU. He is closer to home here though, so perhaps that weighed into the decision.Still on the team, but not sure he sticks around if he’s pretty much guaranteed to be (at best) #3.
I feel like we need to add one more back now. Because the “i” word.
I expect Hansen to put on about ten pounds in the off-season and be a total beast next year.
It's hard to build quality depth in this day and age when so few are willing to pay their dues. Seems like everyone wants to be a starter by their sophomore year or they move onto somewhere else. One thing not mentioned or worth hashing over now, but we definitely averted disaster on Saturday.
One injury to Sama (even with Hanson) and we were in trouble. Sama was limping at some point during the game too

I doubt it had anything to do with just “thinking about” it.I don't know any of the specifics about this situation or why they didn't play so I'm not commenting on this situation specifically. I just hope the coaching staff doesn't have a blanket policy of if you are thinking about or want to transfer then you can't play. I think a player is perfectly capable of wanting to transfer but still can finish out the season and play just as hard for their team and themselves. Again, I don't know what happened with Sanders and Norton and it could have been their decisions for all I know. Just saying I hope we don't have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to guys who are thinking about leaving.
I think Sanders developed into a nice gadget RB, slot WR hybrid role this year. In a previous age he would have been very useful next year.Who was the last transfer out of ISU that ever made you think "man I wish he had stuck around" because he blew up at the next school he went to? Isheem Young found out the grass is not always greener, he's not done much at Ole Miss this year. I assume there are some guys that went to non P5 schools and did alright but I can't think of 1 guy that left recently that did so well at his next stop to make me think we missed on him here.
The one thing Campbell has been good about is he doesn't care how long you've been here, if there is a guy on the roster that earns playing time because he's outplaying the guy ahead of him he will give him the opportunity to win the job. Sanders and Norton got plenty of chances with Brock out and it became pretty clear lately that Sama was better. I want guys that want to be here and want to push to be better and if a freshman coming in and beating you out stings then so be it, chances are you will have to find a smaller school to play at to get the snaps you want. Competition is a good thing if you want a healthy football program. Remember the days when there was a huge drop off in talent from 1st to 2nd string where there weren't many guys really pushing the guy ahead of them and if we lost a starter it was a huge blow to the depth chart. Yes we do have a few positions if we lost a starter it would really hurt but this group of players right now have shown that next man up is not such a scary thing as it was in the past as the talent level is so much better across the 2 deep.
