so people are ok with losing to iowa and ohio
Ugh, and Kansas.
Fun to see last night an aggressive offensive game. The run game was suddenly successful because of the specific ways we were putting pressure on BYU downfield. And totally opposite of the Ohio and Kansas (and Iowa games), the opponent’s defense was
not playing aggressive, downhill, and not confidently anticipating our play calls; they were on their
heals,
reacting. That split second “confidence boost” that our opponents played with during our losses (that we fueled for them, those entire games) - we never gave BYU a shot lost night.
This is now a string of road games where our offensive focus was NOT to “lengthen the game and keep it low scoring and close to give ourselves a chance” - but instead it correctly was to ensure we were putting pressure on the secondary, giving the run game a much better opportunity to be successful.
