Offense has been a concern for the last seven years, it is not going to change. At least nice to see improvement on special teams. With defense and an average special teams , we could get 4 plus wins this season.

The record breaking offenses?

Go back to your Hok boards.

Really solid outing today. Never in doubt. Defense was outstanding. Special teams were special for once absent the botched hold on the PAT. Offense wasn't great, but Rocco is the clear #1 and they probably would have looked better with him on the field throughout (plus Campbell had no interest in doing anything more than necessary once we went up 30-0). Great win Cyclones

Defense gets an A.
Special Teams gets an A.

Offense.... C-. Not because of players but just not impressed with the play calling. It felt like a Tom Manning game. A lot of duplicate play calls and 2 drives...we did nothing. even including a 20 yard short field scoer. We had 10 plays for 158 on our two scores....

We then had 35 plays for 98 yards. That's not even 3 yards and a cloud of dust.

All I know for sure is whatever the point spread is next week I'm going under. I don't know that Iowa and Iowa State will combine for 30 points.

It looks like itll be another great defensive and ST battle

Theo. I'd be talking the hell out of the Iowa State secondary. That's an impressive, impressive first half.
I think McNamara will be the best of the three teams honestly. Theo will be great once he gets back to his level of competition though for sure. He has the tools but definitely was not a good day, a lot to do with the Cyclone defense but he missed several throws and all of the yards he did pile up were in garbage time.

Instant reaction:

OL doesn't look any different. Same crappy play.

Offense doesn't look any different. Same crappy play

Defense doesn't look any different. Same great play.
Yes, special teams has gotten better I think, but will have to judge against P4 competition

Offense definitely needs some work. The first game is always a throw away game. It will get better. But, if you’ve been a cyclone fan for any time then you can see the difference in special teams. That is what made me excited today. Again, if you’ve been a cyclone fan for anytime you know we have lost a lot of games because of special teams. When’s the last time a kicker nailed a 55 yard FG into the wind? Our return yards were great. Our protection was great. Our punter was incredible. I’m happy

Kicking it out of the end zone, making 56 yard fgs and punting over 50 yds/avg doesn’t change no matter the opponent. Hopefully this wasn’t a fluke and it’s the norm but just even close to this is better than what we’ve had.

really like what Woo Governor brings to the game. Nice coverage by Woo all game. Gonna be fun to follow Woo Governor all year.

It appears the cool name game has picked back up for ISU and look at that, a win.
