There are plenty of rumors, but also documentation that Huggins likes to drink. Is he an alcoholic? There’s evidence, but that’s not my place to say. The wildest thing about this, to me, is that he was so completely disoriented at .21. While that’s an absurdly high BAC for most people, you’d think his tolerance has to be pretty astronomical at this point. I wouldn’t be stunned to find out that he was on some new medications that interacted in a way he wasn’t used to.

I don't think people appreciate enough what having a .21 BAC means. Its the blackout drunk stage. It's impressive he was able to drive at that point. He literally thought he was in a different state. Your average person at his age would probably need a couple of days to recover from that kind of drunk. While its possible this was a one off incident and he doesn't have a problem it's really unlikely.

Other factors too like how much had he eaten that day. A few full meals while pounding drinks to get to .21 will look a lot different for most that pounding the drinks on an empty stomach to get to .21. Other medications does seem likely though.

Lets not act like we all haven't driven at a .21 before. Why dont you breathalyze everyone leaving the tailgate lots after the first game and let me know how many blow below a .21
OK dude. Two wrongs make a right then. Got it.

I think there are lots of people here who drink too much from what I have read defending Huggins drunkenness but because I don't drink so would not really know one way or the other.

The number of people here that read this as literal instead of catching the OP's sarcasm is baffling

Or the decision-making process that led to doing this in a university owned vehicle or that he has just spent the better part of a Friday day-drinking.

Alcoholism is a medical diagnosis which >99% are not qualified to diagnose, but alcohol problem is fair game. No one needs to apologize for him or stand up for him, he himself offered to go to rehab and he should regardless of his job status

My AA friend said Huggins is too arrogant to ever solve his drinking problem and that it takes humility to do that which he doesn't have one bite of or he would have done something decades ago. He may be like Penn State's coach and die from lack of limelight, that's what my AA friend said could very well happen to Huggins too which I wouldn't be surprised at all if he doesn't get help soon.

AA isnt some miracle cure and frankly I find it a waste of time. I would know I have done them all and been to rehab twice. It took my doc telling me I had 4 years to live, that did it for me. Everyones rock bottom is different. .2 is childs play for an alcoholic.

Dude, I’ve been absolutely dragged on this site for defending gravel traveling. I guarantee I’ve never even considered driving at .21. Nor has anyone I’ve known.

That’s puking drunk

If everyone’s rock bottom is different then you would realize that he could easily be struggling with an addiction and it should be easier for you to empathize with his Huggins situation.

I think you would be shocked, a buddy of mine blew a .38 once. Should you drink and drive no? Has everyone on this site probably done it? Yes. People act like Huggins is protesting the special Olympics
