@jcisuclones. I don't usually respond after someone dislikes or disagrees with me, but I will here. Care to respond as to why you disagree? I feel Huggins has an alcohol problem and called him a spade. A spade is a spade. I feel that his dtr. is also in denial, although supporting her father is admirable.
Earned my masters at WVU in sport management a few years back, and through that, I got a little insight into the workings within the athletic department. The department has been trying to push Bob out for a few years now and get some new blood, even more so after Shane Lyons left. His daughter is definitely correct in that sense, especially with the comment about how E. Gordon Gee shouldn’t throw stones in a glass house given incidents during his time at Ohio State. I also do think it’s a little premature to say someone has a drinking problem due to one DUI arrest. While l incredibly stupid, it doesn’t instantly label someone as an alcoholic.

2 names flown to appease the fan base? Soon will hear rumors what the administration and AD want to target. Good luck Nolaeer. Guess the way your luck has been lately it can’t get any worse for a basketball fan.
It's been hard to be a WVU fan the past decade. WVU had 3 straight top 10 seasons under RROD, 2 in top 5, and beat SEC champion UGA in Sugar Bowl, and blew out OU in the Fiesta. and put up 70 on Clemson in Orange Bowl in a game WVU could've scored 100.

Now 3 losing seasons out of 4 in football, and hoops hasnt been that good either. 3 bad hires after RROD. Bill Stewart(God bless his soul), Dana, and Neal Brown. I thought WVU didnt have the NIL money, but we heard WVU baseball coach say NIL is why WVU may be able to reach its first CWS, and we saw Huggins beat out Kansas and others for recruits.

WVU was 3rd in NIL spending in football, behind Texas and OU, but has damn little to show for it.

WVU board, of which I was a paying member for decades, is too depressing to read. So Im hangin' here for a bit....

I appreciate your insight and response, Thank you. I, of course, do not know for sure, but it seems like Huggins has a drinking problem and his inner circle of friends, associates have been enabling the behavior. And it's not his first DUI, the one in 2004 cost him his job at Cincinnati.

And 'alcohol problem' vs. 'alcoholic' are not necessarily the same thing. He may indeed be an alcoholic, I don't know. I don't believe I called him an alcoholic. I did call him a 'spade' and in it I meant that he has an 'alcohol problem'.

My grandpa (step-grandpa?, I suppose, but we never made the distinction) grew up in West By God Virginia and was an Agronomy professor at Iowa State for 30+ years. I didn’t grow up in Iowa, but he took me to my first ISU football game back in the dark ages. He passed away long before realignment, but he would have gotten a kick out of it, while constantly mocking the absurdity. Welcome aboard!

I believe he had one at Cincinnati. Found at 2am passed out in driver's seat, had thrown up on himself, iicr.

And that **** show of an interview a month or two ago. Plus, in some ways it's giving Huggins the benefit of the doubt to say this an alcohol problem. Because how much worse is it if he's making those choices and doesn't have a problem
Exactly. If he doesn't have an alcohol problem, he just comes off like a delusional ******* with no regard for anyone, and that does seem a bit out of whack with what we've seen of his personality in other areas.

I'm not saying what he did was right but his first DUI came back in 2004.

It wasn't like he was getting one every 3 years here.

Drinking problem? Idk.. possibly. But basing a drinking problem off of 2 DUIs 20 years apart is a stretch for me.

A valid point, and because of this i believe most states will even treat this as a 'first' DUI legally.

But i think it merely adds to the pile of evidence that he has a problem.

You are right - as outsiders we can't, definitively, say whether or not it is a drinking problem. However, anyone who is drunk and proceeds to drive has a huge "drinking & driving" problem. Have known families of victims of drunk drivers - it is one of the worst tragedies for them to go through. Huggins is lucky he didn't kill anyone!

I have a family member who had multiple DUIs (over 3) and spent time in jail. 10 years sober now. Thats a drinking problem. (also doesn't make them a bad person, they just had a problem)

I have a cousin who has 1 DUI they got after a work event. Definitely doesn't have a drinking problem.

As @alarson pointed out-- most states would consider this a "First" DUI.

I believe Iowa is 12 years between DUIs.
