I happened upon a KSU based podcast. Didn't say anything about a rift but was just speaking about skills and why he might transfer. Ish was basically a spot up shooter - a good one- but couldn't go get his own shot and couldn't defend well. Was subbed out a lot with the game on the line due to defensive deficiencies. KState has a lot of production coming back so he may just be leaving for a place where he will get more consistent playing time.
Sounds like a perfect fit in Iowa's offense since he doesn't play D.

So, I was in KC for the semi final game against KU... After the game was over, I was waiting in line for the down escalator and a deplorable KU fan got in my face.

She was a soccer mom Karen Her kids were standing next to her) and she said " I am so glad we beat you.... I hate Caleb Grill and his family. We are from Grill's hometown and his whole family are the biggest bunch of a-holes in the city."

I said, "You truly hate a college kid because of his family? He's not even on the team anymore. That kinda harsh to literally hate a college kid."

She says, "There is one more younger kid in that family and I pray to God he never plays sports at the college level"

I said, "well that is your opinion. If I were you I would be more worried about the FBI being involved in your basketball program."

She says. "We'll get away with it. We always do."

I said (under my breath) "No wonder everyone hates you insufferable KU fans." I let it go at that point. Good riddance.

I have heard this same thing from a couple of Cyclone fans from the area. Take that for what it’s worth

Ish Masoud is going to leave KSU? That surprises me. What’s the story?
Cyclones gave a good summary above. There's nothing I can add except Ish is a good dude, graduated, and in the right place will contribute as he did at K-State. I believe it was in his best interests to play elsewhere next season, likely back east. His rebounding and defensive skills were not like his spot-up shooting. Ish was a 4* coming from NYC to Wake Forest.

As for Grill, it would be like Huggs to take him. He has a history of fixing things. Stevenson being his latest.

Cleaning out the DVR today, watching some of our games from earlier in the season.

This has been mentioned at nauseum, but Caleb Grills health (mental and physical) issues later in the season totally changed this team.

It stands out overwhelmingly. Would have loved to watch this team finish the season with a healthy Grill.

A lot of what-if this season when it came to injuries. Grill, of course (as you stated), but also what if Jaz had played the full season? We can imagine how things would differ if Williams had been available, but at least we knew his status heading into the season and adjust expectation a little.

In some ways, we/I probably take for granted how well the team DID do considering all of that.

The Jaz situation is curious. Love the guy but there’s no denying that when he returned our season went downhill.

I hesitate to point fingers at any specific player, but agree something was "off" overall after his return. Partly could've been how the lineup had to be reconfigured in his absence, which was what, a couple of months? So maybe there was something about reinserting him into the "backup plan rotation." I admit he didn't seem as effective offensively later in season (maybe something about the injury still lingered?)

I could be 100% wrong with all of that analysis, just conversing. .

Pretty sure that Caleb & Jaz were roommates. That had to be a real awkward situation.

I'm cheering for Grill. If he plays against ISU in Hilton, hope the fans give him a loud cheer when he enters the game. After that, he is a normal opposing player.
Not sure why we would boo the hell out of Hunter and then cheer a Grill return after he had to be dismissed from the program if he shows up with WVA or Tech

Wasn't he dismissed for trashing the team/coach?

Behind closed doors. Big difference than posting on Twitter. Tyrese actively stoked the flames. Grill posted a gracious tweet thanking cyclone nation and saying he's always a cyclone... Can you not see a difference?

Did Hunter publicly trash ISU? I don't remember. I am assuming he left for NIL. And if Texas was giving him $1 million and we offered $50,000, hard for any kid to turn that down, especially no guarantees he will make the NBA with an average outside shot and his frame.

I was a hypocrite too. I booed him when he came back.
