So proud of this team bouncing back from Monday, especially Lipsey. Love these guys.
That was as complete of an ISU game as I can remember. Really felt like it was never in doubt. Even more impressive after two brutal back to back losses. Great job TJ and team!
(I'm in trouble at the house for not enjoying it and grumbling about that Tech loss and the close Okie State loss)
Great bounce back by this team. Self might be the best coach in the game, but he messed up by not pressing us.
Looking at the box score, Tamin Lipsey flirted with a triple-double today. Extremely good rebounding! Rare for a point guard. Jaz Kunc needs time to shake the rust off. He’ll get there.
He also messed up big not getting his token early technical foul. For whatever reason, it somehow sparks his teams and the refs start to think twice about their calls.
This officiating crew must not have had the Vegas connection as the group @ T Tech, but the number of charges we were able to take seemed to lessen the attempt of KU to simply drive to the basket & score off the dribble, or get contact & score with the clock not moving. Kunz is excellent at that, but it seems contagious as Shoon & others took key charges this game.
Vengeance for the sons of Fred. Good on ISU for keeping 'em at arms length. Self on his knees working the refs is a recipe for some bee ess.
Not just the press, but inbounds pressure.
I'm more shocked KU didn't look to run high screens with BRE in the game and attempt to ISo him at the top of the key. Mizzou and Tech absolutely DESTROYED us by doing this as it either lead to easy buckets directly or became the start of a defensive breakdown.
Also shocked KU didn't play off Lipsey, forcing him to shoot 3s or make decisions. Lots of curious choices by Self and I really don't understand at least TRYING those things.
Would I trade a loss to a last place TT team (a game where we were at best slight favorites, if not outright dogs in the first place), in exchange for outright kicking Kansas' ass on our own court?
