I don’t think there are any hard feelings with Gomez. I think if it wasn’t for all the concussions at Iowa State, he would still be here. Pretty sure that Iowa State couldn’t let him compete anymore with his documented concussion history at Iowa State
I have seen this with other sports too and never understood. Is the liability less for the new school (Wisconsin in this case) versus the old school where the athlete had the concussions? Or is it the doctor advising the new school giving a thumbs up to his health while the old school has a different doctor's opinion?

I have no idea but I also wonder if it has something to do with not being able to share medical records without consent - hippa stuff. Therefore if he gets to a new school and passes their physical and they think he’s fine, he’s fine. If the ISU school medical professionals are the only ones who had an opinion without hard medical data to back it up

If I remember right , he went to the head injury specialists in Pennsylvania before the decision was made at ISU.

Stephen got his ass PAID.
Good for him.

I understand it is frustrating if you're a fan of a smaller program and develop a guy, only for him to leave when he gets good.

This is it for a guy like Buchanan, his chance to cash in on years and years of work. RTC's aren't going to drop the bag on a guy like him post college. Sure maybe he could go MMA, but there is the physical risk plus still several years before you are making any real money. Get the bag while you can.

Also big schools arent the only ones benefitting. The transfer portal benefits everyone. Northern Colorado got Berreyesa from Cornell, Poulin from NC state, and Fernandes from Minnesota. That could be 2 or 3 new starters we will find out. I personally don’t find it. Guys transferring out of penn state to find new homes

HIPPA is not relevant in this situation. Doctors can share stuff by asking if they have been a patient of both.

Nebraska frosh Lenny Pinto beat #6 Trey Munoz (Oregon State) in the 184 quarters at CKLV.

His reward is Keckeisen in the semis.

Very questionable takedown won it for Laird
Actually a very clear td by the rule book. Laird had rear standing control and Dean’s hand touched.

Hand-Touch Takedown. To award a takedown, reaction time is not required in instances in which a wrestler has rear-standing neutral control of their opponent and from the standing position the defending wrestler's hand comes in contact with the mat.

I thought it was suspect too but your picture and explanation changes my mind.

Here’s the video for those that haven’t seen it. In real-time it doesn’t look like a td. That pic does provide good perspective. A hell of a call by that ref it looks like.
