No thanks -- I will post where I please.

Did you not just see the playoff expanded to 12 teams with an auto-bid for each conference champ? This is literally the best time for a school like ISU to compete for a title ever. If you think we should give up now I don’t know what to say manIf we're admitting that we can never compete with the B1G/SEC in the current NIL landscape -- and that we're relegating to only competing with the Big 12, whatever remains of the PAC, the ACC and the G5 -- I don't really see the value. But again, that's just me.
I’m not sure how you support the AD other than complain. Funny that, I guess.
I'm addressing the issue here because I've seen hounding/pressure/guilting/etc. spilling out into other threads.
Haven't you been complaining about the coaching staff pretty consistently lately? Do you think having a garbage NIL setup is going to attract good coaches? If you can't or don't want to donate that is fine but it is going to have an impact on the football program. If we're admitting that we can never compete with the B1G/SEC in the current NIL landscape -- and that we're relegating to only competing with the Big 12, whatever remains of the PAC, the ACC and the G5 -- I don't really see the value. I feel like Cyclone Club is more directly tied to season ticketholders.Does the cyclone club even have 5000 donors per year?
This is me. I donate a little bit to Cyclone Club every year but more to We Will. As I increase donations more will go to We Will at this point.I feel like Cyclone Club is more directly tied to season ticketholders.
My hope is that We Will can reach beyond our state borders and give good reason to our Alumni abroad to feel like their donation matters without the need to make a trip back to Ames for games.

We definitely have the cheapest fan base no arguing that!I don't have a problem with the We Will Collective or those donating to it. If people want to to donate to college athletics, that's fine -- great even. But trying to shame other fans into doing so is, shall we say, one-star culture ********.
But it is worth noting that this is a war we probably will not and cannot win. If open NIL is the new reality of college football, ISU and schools like it simply cannot compete, no matter how much our fan base is hounded to whip out their checkbooks. Our fan base may be the most loyal, but we aren't the richest or the biggest by a long shot. There's nothing wrong with refusing to throw good money after bad and refusing to enter an unwinnable arms race.
Are you serious? It is absolutely going to be a factor. These two issues are independent of one another. I don't think a school's NIL setup is going to be even in the top 20 questions in the mind of any rational coaching candidate.

The Director of the Iowa NIL was openly boasting today on KXNO that they have raised $3M with goals of $10M and that’s right here in Iowa. I don’t love the direction either, but if you spend this much time invested in the Cyclones on this message board, this is a direct way YOU can make a difference going forward. We are nowhere near $3M to be candid. Yet, some would rather advertise that they don’t want to help. If you won‘t, who will?
I have no idea what this means. But Matt did a ******* video for the We Will Collective. Do you think Matt Campbell would waste his time doing a video for an NIL collective if it wasn't important to him?Facts not in evidence.

Same hereNope, but I'm now off the fence about renewing my season tickets of 15 years.
Doing videos for the collective is part of the head football coach's job? lol wut?... do you really think that people only do things that are personally important to them? When it's already their job?
All on the fans? ISU provides student athletes with scholarships with quite a bit in monetary value. They have also added a stipend to graduating athletes. They pour millions into facilities, much of which is for student athletes to use. ISU didn’t create the We Will Collective And isn’t trying to trick anyone. I get that NIL is not really NIL and some have a problem with it. Then, don’t contribute to it; find another way to support the AD instead.I made the username before the schools starting tricking people into thinking it was their responsibility pay the athletes. I’m not anti paying players, I’m anti putting it all in the fans.
I think what you are seeing already at many schools is the ADs are having their major donors give to the Collectives rather than the AD. Now, not all ADs have the same resources and $1M to A&M is different than to Iowa State, but absolutely some donors are being directed to give to specific areas. You probably can't answer given your role (and thank you for doing this as you job)....but seeing the numbers above do you think we could ever have a donor give a million to WeWill instead of say CyTown or another capital project? Just wondering if in the coming years if collectives will be more of a need vs traditional donations (given the guaranteed media money)
Could the WeWill be one of the non profit groups that "work" concessions....and then....say...add beer? Trying to think of how to create other streams, lol.
Perhaps. I’ll have to think about it. I pay money for some stuff for my kids’ robotics stuff that is technically a donation, but I don’t budget it as charitable giving. If you looked at it as entertainment spending perspective vs charitable spending would that help you?
Would you donate $20 a month to keep Breece Hall from transferring if he played in this NIL era? I think a lot of Cyclone fans would and that is a similar situation we are in with trying to keep our best players.
