To quote President Geoffroy at ISU's last B-Ball game...

(and I seriously and for really quote)

"Oh, we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State
And may her colors ever fly.
Oh, we will fight with might for Iowa State
With the will to do or die!
Rah, Rah, Rah
Loyal sons forever true
And we will fight that battle through.
And when we hit the line we'll hit it hard,
every yard for I-S-U! "

(end of quote)

Pancakes rock.

That is all.

Fire in the hole
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Fire in the hole" is a standard warning, used in many countries in the world, indicating that an explosive detonation in a confined space is imminent.
It originated with miners, who needed to warn their fellows that a charge had been set. The first cannons were discharged, shot or exploded by placing a flaming torch to a small hole packed with gunpowder and leading to the main powder charge. This caused the main charge to explode, propelling the cannon ball to the enemy, or sometimes, blowing up the cannon and all standing nearby.
Hence, “fire in the holeâ€￾ was both a command to the torch man, and a warning to all around. Over time cannons improved; they became safer, with no hole or fire needed. The command was reduced to “fireâ€￾, while the term “fire in the holeâ€￾ became a general warning for the use of explosive weapons.
The phrase was subsequently adopted by the United States Army and Marines to give notice that a grenade or satchel charge was being tossed into a bunker, spider hole, or other enclosure. It is not used for all explosions — throwing a grenade in the open is not announced, for example — only those surprisingly close.
This phrase is used extensively on film and TV sets by the special effects department whenever setting off effects charges of any nature (from weapons that fire blanks to a blood squib to huge fireballs). It serves as a warning to the crew that a loud sound is imminent and as a final warning to stop the shot if there are any problems in any department. As a result the phrase is frequently used in MythBusters due to their extensive work on set as Special Effects technicians.

Gang Busters was an American dramatic radio program heralded as "the only national program that brings you authentic police case histories." It premiered as G-Men, sponsored by Chevrolet, on July 20, 1935.
After the title was changed to Gang Busters January 15, 1936, the show had a 21-year run through November 20, 1957. Beginning with a barrage of loud sound effects — a shrill police whistle, convicts marching in formation, police siren wailing, machine guns firing, and tires squealing — this intrusive introduction led to the popular catchphrase "came on like Gang Busters."
The series dramatized FBI cases, which producer-director Phillips H. Lord arranged in close association with Bureau director J. Edgar Hoover. Hoover insisted that only closed cases would be used.
The initial series was on NBC Radio from July 20 to October 12, 1935. It then aired on CBS from January 15, 1936 to June 15, 1940, sponsored by Colgate-Palmolive and Cue magazine. From October 11, 1940 to December 25, 1948, it was heard on the Blue Network, with various sponsors that included Sloan's Liniment, Waterman pens and Tide. Returning to CBS on January 8, 1949, it ran until June 25, 1955, sponsored by Grape-Nuts and Wrigley's chewing gum. The final series was on the Mutual Broadcasting System from October 5, 1955 to November 27, 1957. It was once narrated by Norman Schwarzkopf, Sr., former head of the New Jersey State Police.
The radio series was adapted for DC Comics and Big Little Books. Universal Pictures made a very popular Gang Busters movie serial in 1942, starring Kent Taylor and Ralph Morgan. The 1952 Gang Busters TV series was reedited into two feature films, Gang Busters (1955, with Myron Healey as Public Enemy No. 4) and Guns Don't Argue (1957, with Healey as John Dillinger).

I remember as a kid we went to Silver Dollar City in Branson. They had a roller coaster called Fire in the Hole. It was a good time. I liked it.

I'm suprised by the high cost of the Ten Lords-a Leaping. Twelve drummers drumming is a much better deal at nearly half the cost.

That's why I asked for a source, this whole thing looks suspicious.

* One Partridge in a Pear Tree: $219.99 - up 33.3% as opposed to 2007's rise of just 13.8%.
Is this the cost of the Partridge AND the Pear Tree together? Installed or do you have to plant the tree yourself? Has the tree been properly treated for diseases and pests?

* Two Turtle Doves: $55.00 now for the pair, up 33.3%.
Ok, great. Do these turtle doves come with any kind of habitation, or do you need to provide your own tree for their nest?

* Three French Hens: $30.00 in total - down by a whopping $15.00 on the full set of 3
Do the chickens have large talons?

* Four Calling Birds: $599.96 - $149.99 each, stable
Calling birds? What do they call? Do they call all of their friends to have a party while you're gone and **** all over your yard?

* Five Gold Rings: $349.95 - after a 11.4% decrease.
Where are you getting gold rings for $50 each? The back of a van or some guy with a bunch of pockets inside his trench coat?

* Six Geese-a-Laying: $240.00 - down $120 on 2007.
We have a pond outside my office with a ton of geese. I'll let you have as many as you want for $30 each.

* Seven Swans-a-Swimming: $5,600.00 - $1,400 more this year with a 33.3% increase
We also have a couple swans. I'm not touching them, I saw them chasing the guy who feeds them once.

* Eight Maids-a-Milking: $52.40 in total, up 12%.
Not going there...

* Nine Ladies Dancing: $4,759.00 - still steady at $528.80 each.
Ok, so is that nine "dancers" at $530 a piece for an hour? Two hours? Are they the same ones from the ad or nine uggos?

* Ten Lords-a-Leaping: $4,413.61 - up only 3%.
Not sure why anybody would want this, so you can't really put a price on it.

* Eleven Pipers Piping: $2,284.80 - up 3.2%.

* Twelve Drummers Drumming: $2,475.20

Ok, so I lost my steam a little near the end, but this should get me a bunch of credits. And isn't that really what it's all about?

Still 2:45 until tipoff... :sad:

That is far more than I ever wanted to know about pop tarts.
I'm not a big fan of them. A bit too dry for me.

meh. i came to this thread not knowing what to do. eventually, i decided that making a post might be a good idea. so then i thought, "what will i post about in this incredibly random thread?". I could post about anything that came to mind, from cheese, to llamas, to uniform changes, to Battlestar Galactica. (BTW, bears beets battlestar galactica). I eventually decided I would just start posting, and hope that the true meaning of whatever I was supposed to post would come to me as I wrote the message. I wandered along in the post for what seemed like years, punching keys, for gods sake it took forever. As I went along i began to wonder: "Will this mean anything in the end? Will anyone care what was posted in a thread about nothing?" And i pondered that question for what seemed like days. Eventually it dawned on me the truth. There was no thread. Only the deep inner meaning of what was contained within is what matters. And then i was forced to wonder, what is the deeper inner meaning of what I was about to post? This troubled me, as there seemed to be no meaning at all, but i knew there must be some reason I'd been pressing this seemingly random series of keystrokes to come up with this long and winding message. I then began to wonder: If there is no meaning in this post, is there meaning in any of my posts? Or yet, is there any meaning anywhere on this board, or is everything here completely meaningless. I decided, as much for my sanity as anything else, that there must be some meaning, even if it was not readily apparent. And therefore, my life's goal (at least for the next 30 seconds) will be to figure out the meaning of cyclonefanatic.... and if i fail.... oh, well... **** it.

puff, puff, pass dude. I think you forgot one of those steps!:wink:

We’re no strangers to love,
You know the rules and so do I.
A full commitment’s what I’m thinking of,
You wouldnt get this from any other guy.

I just wanna tell you how I’m feeling,
Gotta make you understand…

Never gonna give you up,
Never gonna let you down,
Never gonna run around and desert you.
Never gonna make you cry,
Never gonna say goodbye,
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you.

We’ve known each other for so long
Your heart’s been aching
But you’re too shy to say it.
Inside we both know what’s been going on,
We know the game and we’re gonna play it.

Annnnnd if you ask me how I’m feeling,
Don’t tell me you’re too blind to see…

Never gonna give you up,
Never gonna let you down,
Never gonna run around and desert you.
Never gonna make you cry,
Never gonna say goodbye,
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you.

Never gonna give you up,
Never gonna let you down,
Never gonna run around and desert you.
Never gonna make you cry,
Never gonna say goodbye,
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you.

Give you up. give you up.
Give you up, give you up.
Never gonna give
Never gonna give, give you up.
Never gonna give
Never gonna give, give you up.

We’ve known each other for so long
Your heart’s been aching
But you’re too shy to say it.
Inside we both know what’s been going on,
We know the game and we’re gonna play it.
