Unless they looking for food

Any species significantly advanced enough to travel all the way here wouldnt need earth animals (including humans) for food. They could synthesize something easily. Transport would also be pretty inefficient. If they really did want something here as food they'd grab a few dna samples and start farming it back on their own planet.

On the surface yes. But it could be a leapfrog of tech tho. Quantum physics advances will look more like magic and special effects than conventional advances.

It takes a long time to turn new scientific understanding into a practical application. You think some group turned some new quantum physics breakthroughs into a brand new aircraft decades ago? Experts in the field today can't even put a theory on paper for how a craft like this works let alone actually build one.

Quantum propulsion? I imagine that would only work in a vaccuum right? We still have to worry about g force and inertia etc, for now.

Have to disagree, if any civilization, has overcome all the hurdles of interstellar space flight, they would not see a planet like Earth, as a threat to them in anyway.

I tend to think differently, that they are already here, first contact was made years ago, and they are helping us along, watching over us, until we reach a point in development, when we as a world, can handle, that we are just a voice in the chorus, not a solo performer in a concert.
Yeah, if they are here, I think that is the most likely scenario. And the fact that some of the earliest reported sightings from the most credible people coincided with nuclear testing supports this idea. Humans first splitting the atom is a monumental moment in our history to A) observe, and B) make sure we don’t screw it up.

I have some fun headcanon which says any UFOs we find are actually time traveling future humans.
I’ve definitely pondered that one as well !
As hard as it may be for us to wrap our heads around this, it's far more likely for humans to be interested in humans than for far flung intelligent life to care about our dead-end mongrel species. However, IF beings are our there, we'll never know them by anything but the probes they send our way, whether it be Oumuamua or the nifty little drones refered to in the OP.

Disagree. We would be very interested in a back water civilization. We don't know how rare finding life that exists during the same time period really is. We could be their unicorn, searching for us millions of years.

How could you visit earth and not realize whales or dolphins are the intelligent species? Those volatile bipeds that can't control their growth, burn resources like it's going out of style and live in their own waste? No, it's the ocean dwellers who are sustainable over centuries who are the ones that are noteworthy.

I'd say yes to other life. It'd be so strange for there to be life on at least one planet in the only solar system we're familiar with, but nowhere else in the vastness of the universe.

As to UFOs, I know a guy, now deceased, who was an eyewitness to a well-known 1970s Minnesota UFO sighting, the 'Medford UFO'. It is mostly forgotten now. I've visited the site. The thing came down right there in little old Medford (just east of I-35 north of Owatonna) and was observed 'landing' on the football field, burned the grass! Lots of area residents saw it. Here is an article on it. Be sure to watch the linked youtube vid on it, featuring none other than Spock!: https://www.minnpost.com/minnclips/2010/07/1975-ufo-sighting-medford/

Yes. There are likely thousands of space orgies happening right now.

Take you pick. But from what we have seen in the last month it sure as hell isn't Russian tech. And I sincerely doubt that China has something this advanced right now, let alone decades ago.

How do you know this? What about the U.S.?? What about private entities? You and I have no idea. Pretty sure it's not aliens.

As a student of science, I can assure you the only thing that has a budget within realistic bounds for such types of technology are governments.

Even then you're basically talking about a jump millions of times bigger than the greatest genius of our species IMO Sir Issac Newton who invented all the math we use today.

Edit: I will say AI, quantum computing, etc are the first step to this kind of a break through. Not sure we make it out the other side though, the AI intelligence will be like a God to us.
