This conference is just BRUTAL!!! K-State only 6 on their roster, they will be moving up.

ISU adds AJ Green and we slide into the 39 spot... That's 9/10 teams in the top 42 with 1/2 of the transfer portal season to go...

Big 12 4.0 will add:

#8 Houston
#65 Cincy
#93 BYU
#94 UCF

The new league very likely could be harder than the current league

What has the reaction been to Tang's transfer recruiting?
From what I can tell, most of us have a wait-and-see attitude. Everyone was so tired of the Weber years, constant fanbase infighting, inconsistent results from championships to pitiful, his on-court presence or lack thereof; welp, Tang is a refreshing change.

The youngsters he's recruited to this point seem to be solid based on who else was recruiting them, which is my personal judgment point, rather than stars which often turn into flares after the fact.

For example, this Tomlin youngster - the latest recruit - had offers from TxT, Pitt, Miss State, and others. So, that suggests he's pretty good as are the others Tang is bringing to MHK.

So, I'd say the reaction so far is positive albeit guarded. We'll have to see how he finishes this class and then does he coach them up next fall.

That very fair IMO. Just my two cents from 5,000 feet is he seems to really be putting a lot of emphasis on talent over production.

He may not have a choice with NIL what it is, K-State will be a developmental program. Dan Dakich had a great line this morning.

Miami transfer signs with a billionaire jock sniffer for 2 years, $800,000 and a car. The transfer, Nigel Pack, was good enough to get his previous coach Bruce Weber fired at Kansas State.
There is a saying in coaching that every ********* team has a leading scorer. Pack averaged 17 pts per game as a 5’9″ shooting guard. Pack is the poster child for this saying, yet got rewarded with $400,000 a year.

I agree on NIL. Schools like ISU and KSU are in the worst spot for NIL. Second favorite team in-state, graduates work in fields with less income, fans care about both football and basketball thus diluting NIL money across more athletes, lack of historical dominance.. I can continue but we both are likely on the same page.

At least KSU landowners get to capitalize on the current energy boom

It will be interesting for EMAWs and perhaps others to watch how this goes for Pack. He's walking into a hostile environment on many levels, including the locker room. And although he's well-grounded from a strong family, the Miami situation could be a lot to overcome versus the adulation, comfort, and freedom he enjoyed playing here for coach Weber. As Dakich says, Nijel Pack is the NIL posterchild now.

Maybe it was common knowledge at this point (and maybe it was announced on premium beforehand), but Gabe finally announced he'll be back for next year today.
