Last one was in mid 2020, so I guess it has been a bit. That one was a 30% jump. It's just frustrating because YTTV started as a cheaper option because they didn't include all the fluff channels that cable did. Now it's just the same that they're trying to satisfy everyone's watching habits instead of sticking to smaller demographics.

still better than the $230 i was shelling out for directv.

They could go up to $100 and I'd still stay.

Do people really need a 24/7 weather channel. Just subscribe to a local TV station App or heck just go to a weather website if you want to know what's going on outside.

Just once I'd like to see a streaming service announce.

People have no interest in 100 Channel Linear streaming networks. We are going with a core of 20 channels which are the most popular and we will have other subject area packages available for an additional fee. Our base package will be $30/month.

I guess Sling is pretty close.

I was so excited when streaming started that we would see ala carte pricing for streaming platforms. Nope they just followed cables lead after a couple years. Main reason I drop streaming platforms once football/hoops seasons are done.

I enjoy weather across the country and the Weather Channel serves as a background noise kind of thing. No politics and no sports so I don't really have to tune in or get invested. Fox Weather that is on YTTV is pretty streamlined as well...just personalities standing in front of radar images. I enjoy the Weather Channel and don't use it at all for learning about local weather. Also...as I pointed out earlier...I get to wake up to Jen Carfagno!

Would you be willing to pay for it? Let's say $5/month as part of an ala carte offering.

I just checked my customized lineup...The Weather Channel is now live on YTTV. There are a few other new offerings in there as well. If you customize your lineup then you need to go in and click on these channels in order to add them to the guide.
Now if they would just add the Marquee network, I would be happy!

Well...that is an interesting question...I might? But I wouldn't pay more than $5 for it...I don't think? I would definitely pay for it...but if every channel I really wanted was $5...it would get to $65 or close to it pretty quick.

It would be interesting what value people put on specific channels. I watch very few channels on my streaming service (which I drop after hoops is over). ESPN the main network during football/basketball season. I would pay around $25/month just for ESPN- especially if it included ESPN+.

After that I will watch Golf, Ntnl Geographic, TVLand and maybe 3-4 other channels. So, I think I could get by pretty cheap. I would have to throw Marquee Network as well over the summer.

I might be unique, but around 80% of TV I watch is YouTube (free) and Prime ($14/mo).

I might have to think about that...I am a baseball fan first so I would need the White Sox regional, MLB Network and maybe the ESPNs during the season and then throw in Iowa State seasons I and I am stuck year round! As for the entertainment channels...I focus more on sports and weather and then really could get by with little to nothing else...again, though...I would have to think that over.

I'm the opposite, I wish they would make ESPN an add on. I may watch an hour a week of ESPN. ESPN probably wouldn't allow it but YTTV should have a no sports package for $15 less per month. Right now, ESPN is charging the most outrageous rates and you still couldn't watch 1/2 the basketball this year because it was on ESPN+. They are trying to double dip their customers. **** Disney.

Any other degenerate gamblers frustrated by the like 30-40 second delay with YTTV when trying to live bet sports? I'm fine with YTTV as it has nearly everything a sports guy could want, but man does it interfere with my horrible habits.

If someone specifically wanted only Weather Channel, they could get it quite cheap via Frndly TV. $7 per month for 30+ channels including Weather Channel. $9 for HD and 3-month DVR. $11 for 9-month DVR.

Yeah...I did that for awhile...sponged off my parents as my Mom wanted the Hallmark channels (LOL)...but once Hallmark was added to YTTV my parents cut me off (actually they dropped Frndly TV at that time).

I would love the ability to buy every station ala carte. Would be curious what I would actually pay vs. what the networks want to charge for carriage fees.

The chart you provided was from 2020. I saw a recent article that mentioned ESPN fees could jump to somewhere in the $20-25 range per month (vs. <$10 in the chart you provided). Doesn't surprise me with their giving the SEC big money and my guess is their MNF fees bumped up too.
