Does anyone know of a place othern then Sheels to get a gun safe in Des Moines. Sheels has a really cheap model and then a very expensive model. I was looking for something in the middle. Thanks for the help.

Yep, sportsmans on Oralabor and Delaware. You won't be disappointed. We also get tailgating stuff there once in a while (not now, but summer/fall) and they have some good options if you are just looking for some new gadgets.

Most Law Enforcement agencies will have FREE gun locks for most semi-automatic weapons...

Visit www.galls.com for a variety of reasonably priced gun safes.

Dunhams at Merle Hay mall has gun safes for a variety of prices. Are you looking for an actual safe with a combination or just a locker type that has a key? I have the key version made by Stack-on that holds around 8-10 guns that I'm pretty happy with. I believe it was around $100.00. I'm the only one that knows where the key is because I don't want my wife getting mad at me and shooting me :biglaugh:

you should also check craigslist. My parents sold one on there a couple months back. Worth a try.

They are going out of business right now, so you might be able to snag one pretty cheap.

So I just had to call Sportsmans to find out if its true that they are going out of business, and they ARE NOT. They just started their winter hours though.

But the people that suggested this place are correct, it would be a good place to look.

Guess I was wrong. My bad. Sure looked like they were getting ready to close when I was there yesterday.

Sorry for the confusion.

What about Theisen's in Ames? They have a good selection of hunting items & guns.

I bought one years ago when Central Tractor was going out of business. 12 gun safe with adjustable shelves & I love it.
