Not the same circumstances, one is a job. The other is a team you went through the physical and emotional gauntlet of a football season with.

Then your teammate says I'm out, gotta look out for my draft position?

A good teammate is happy for Breece and his life changing opportunity and supports his decision knowing they’d love to have the same scenario.

Fanbase hasn't changed? you want the fanbase to change? Isn't the fanbase why CMC came to ISU? What fanbase would you like to see us more like?

And to be honest, I feel better about this team after that game than I did going into it. I was afraid it would be another ND type beat down. Instead, we were right there with a program that is been in the playoffs 4 of the last 6 years. A ways to go yet but the direction is right and having 2 players make the decision not to play in the bowl game has zero impact on that.

We all love the passion before and during the games, but the excuses when we lose are weak.

What changed? More and more players are realizing the nature of what college football is. It's a means to an end for these guys who see themselves playing professionally. And when they feel that it can no longer help them, they're choosing to step away. It doesn't matter if the fans, or the school, or the other players agree with them.
Agree totally. But please stop with the "5 star culture" nonsense. It's just a recruiting/PR tool - we're no different than others.

All you need to know about how big of a joke this is becoming is Tyler Goodson is sitting out. Worried about not getting that UDFA money!! Dude is terrible and not an NFL running back.

It's different. Our coach has turned down borderline blue bloods. Our fans are really supportive given the overall history of the program.

For a moment there I thought I was Hawkeye Report or whatever the hell they call their site.

Get over the p*ssing and moaning about who opted out. I laugh at -- wait, I spit on posters -- when they write something like "I am loyal to Iowa State and will always cheer for the Cyclones" and then they turn around and bash the players who opted out -- questioning the player's loyalty to Iowa State.

That's his decision. Hell if I know but he could have graduated, might be almost done with school too.

This is the entire premise. Who's to stop these players from calling it a career 6 games into the year? If Breece was truly worried he should have hung it up after the Texas Tech loss.
Mostly insurance companies, frito-lay, grain bin manufacturers.
I guess buying tickets, cyclone club and gridiron donations and other expenses to attend events don't count. I guess you're one of those that sit back and figure someone else can carry the load. Without the average fan support, the program would not exist.

Hall had such a great season and plays a position where injuries are more common. Plus running backs are easier to replace. It was probably a good move by him so he has the best chance at the highest check possible. The others had injury issues.

This is so dumb. The players have that right and these bowl games are glorified exhibitions. I don't put much on these games except for the playoff win or lose. I think the best thing you get out of it is the practices and younger guys getting more work.

Who is making excuses? You seemed to making the excuse that Hall and Rose not playing is why we lost? Otherwise, why wait until after the game to call it out?

We were not the better team in this game but we could of still won with some better execution. The results of this game don't require excuses being made for the direction of the program. Lost the battle, can still win the war.

This team wouldn't have been bowl eligible this year without Breece.
We had 5 wins by 13+ points and wins vs UNI and OSU. Breece went 21 carries for 70 yards vs OSU. We probably still go 7-5 or 6-6 without Breece.
