Guessing it's because he has already taken classes at a different university. I doubt we could get him for this season. He already used his one time transfer going to Georgetown. Not sure how many years he would have left.

It's pretty well open movement not sure why they'd get hung up on that.

Any chance he would be eligible second semester? Doubt it but know COVID changed some things. Seems fairly athletic and has a nice shot.

I understand they are highlights but King is an upgrade over anyone we have to play the 5.

Couldn't find a new transfer thread. May need a new one.

This is an interesting target for a number of reasons.
He transferred to Georgetown from Eastern Kentucky this year. Georgetown kicked him off the team last week, saying he didn't meet expectations.

I didn't know where to post on Tre either. I posted here:

Here is my link for him:

The biggest question is whether or not he’s worth waiting for.

i have no idea who we are in on for the 4-5 position, but that will be what the staff has to answer if they’re going to bring this kid in.

Getting a 6'9" forward who has range this late in the off-season would be a slam dunk!

Averaged 15/6 last year in the OVC. Over 20/game per 40min

Any Tre King updates!
I am also interested if we have any interest (or vice versa) in Tre K, or any other additions this BB year (including winter semester)? Perhaps Messi and cyfan92 may know more?

Hey uh, so it's National Signing Day for basketball today.. haha

Lipsey and King have both signed.

Pretty cool videos put out by the basketball twitter account. Whoever TJ added to the staff for social media really stepped it up. I don't remember anything this good under Prohm.

I love the 2022/23 roster and beyond that TJ is building. Tyrese Hunter is the superstar. Compliment him with Lipsey who can sub in to play elite defense and get the ball to shooters as a freshamn. Eli King athletic and has the ability to guard 1-3 while also being another ball handler and upside to be an elite shooter. Love the backcourt of the future.

If you listed to Travis Hines (well connected in his home state of MN and grassroot hoops there). He had the potential to be a top 75+ player for 2022 before having a dissapointing 2021 summer season. Travis said his sources mentioned that the team he played on likely played more into that. Watson needs a lead guard to get him the ball. His summer team lacked that. ISU will have 3 PG's who can do that on day 1. Being 6'7" and having a 7' wingspan with his athletic profile means he can switch 1-5 unless the other teams 5 is a Kofi Cockburn type. The last two players with that combination of shooting potential, length and athletic profile are Abdel Nadar, Deonte Burton, THT and Mariol Shayok. He needs to add bulk. If he can get to 200-215 lbs, while keeping that burst.. Watch out!!

3 spots remain for 2022. I bet 2 of those go to a post player (4/5 in a traditional lineup) with the final spot (for now) going to a wing/stretch player. Big body since Hunter, King and Lipsey are smaller. Hopefully a rebounding and defensive type player who can also knock down open shots in the corner.

You could see from 1 night that playing with Hunter is going to leave A TON of corner 3 opportunities.

Is that true though? We're signing 3, and technically I think we expect everybody to return for the COVID years right? I'd think we have at least 8 or 9 return from this current roster and then we really only have 1 maybe 2 open with another transfer. I think it's all posts from this point. It'd be nice to take a HS big and a transfer big IMO and call it good. I haven't been keeping up with this thread but do we have any real looks at Bigs right now outside of King?

Likely only one of Brockington or Kalsheur will return. Then you have Jaden Walker and Tre Jackson are candidates for transfer since they are not Otz's guys and Lipsey and King will be pushing for minutes. Factor in an open scholorship for 2022/23 and you get 3 likely spots opening

Tre will stay. It's always nice to always have 3 PG's on the roster too. Hunter, Lipsey, and Tre will be a great 3 man group to have at the PG spot?

I heard Brockington likely will be gone. Kunc, and Kalscheur are planning on 2 years.
Agree - Brockington redshirted a year so this is his 5th year. He's talented enough to go make money overseas. I can't see him coming back but, hey, if he wants to no one will stop him.
