Do people actually seek out other random college sporting events on streaming services that aren't related to ISU? Brent and CW make it seem as if exposure doesn't matter because the people that want to find you, will. I just find that hard to believe. If exposure/ease to watch doesn't really matter, why do we care about getting primetime TV slots on ABC or ESPN? How many times have you searched out random college football games on a streaming service vs checking the guide and stumbling onto a game that happens to catch your interest?

I think they are way off base and fear a streaming deal with Amazon or Netflix would push the conference into irrelevance for anyone that's not a direct fan of the conference schools.

Interesting perspective. People are likely to follow a link about something us when we are "trending," but not just scroll around and stumble across our game.

Good perspective. My view is it is still important to be on traditional media, but less so than it used to be as people migrate more to streaming services/what they want to watch. Being an ABC game per se used to be a big deal as compared to being on ESPN, now that is negligible. Soon, in my opinion, being on a streaming service will be nearly as normalized. And eventually streaming services will just migrate content from all the services into one app. It won’t be in next two years, but long-term, I see it that way.

I agree that the trend is moving that way and don't disagree with that overall thought. I still think every time you add a barrier to the game by having to jump out of one app into another, jump off cable/dish/directv to find the game in an app, etc you limit exposure by adding obstacles to average Joe viewers. If the same exact game was played between the same two teams at the same time and one was broadcast on ESPN+ and the other on ESPN, the ESPN viewership would dwarf the viewership on +.

We talk a lot about ISU growing the fanbase and brand, and a ton of that being attributed to the availability of games on TV now vs the 80s and 90s. It feels like going to a streaming service would be a step backwards after watching this awesome growth we have seen over the last decade + by having relevant games consistently on TV.

I hope this works out for the best for yall, I hope you get to curse OU/Texas out from the visitor's sections at Nebraska in two years. I am not coming to dance on any graves but Lot of head in the sand takes in here that aged like milk, tho no one saw the acceleration from February to today

I just can't get over the leadership of schools in this league looking at demographic data and sitting with their thumbs up their butt and hoping that Texas wouldn't be Texas or that OU wouldn't be greedy at some point.

Good luck Cyclones.

Would you guys have wanted to stay in the conference if we added UCF or Cincinnati? What were we supposed to do?

You sold your soul to the cancer that is Texas. Good luck being an afterthought in the SEC.

You can pull up page after page in the Big XII forum of David Boren stumping for expanding with lesser schools and you'll find page after page of Cyclone fans not wanting them added because of less money. The OU decision-maker at the time wanted expansion, OU fans will complain about anything, we'll complain in the SEC I'm sure.

Fans don’t make the decisions.

What Boren tells the media doesn’t always mesh with what he does/votes per people who know him personally.
