Why would the University of California system allow UCLA to screw over Cal-Berkeley?

Yeah, how is USC/UCLA to the B1G NOT good for us? I presume it would accelerate a Pac / Xii merger. Who's not down for that?
It might be better for ISU. The Big 10 isn't going to take all of the PAC-12 so there are still major players. Say they added Cal, UW, USC, and UCLA. Pac-12 probably at least goes back to 10. You'd have to think outside of Kansas we would probably have about as good of a shot as anyone.

It seems to me that Texas and OU are maybe on a fishing expedition to some extent. What's to keep the B1G or PaC from coming in with an offer to start a bidding war?

All this crap will come full circle before it's over many years down the road. Colleges will want to have regional rivals, less travel and get tired of of the grind of being a bottom feeder. At least I hope so.

More likely scenario is that they follow the NFL model and have 4 regions with the perceived best 8 teams for a total of 32 super conference. I hope I'm wrong.

Go Cyclones

OU is not an AAU school.

If that is what you think will keep the Big Ten from taking them OU correct me if I'm wrong.......but wasn't this the conference that made it's own rules on the minimum games played last year to be eligible for conference championship game..........only to ignore their own rules to accommodate Ohio State?

Not exactly sure.

You gotta remember that when you add, it’s the Presidents getting involved. The changes were done mostly at Ad level.

The Big 10 officially announced their hypocrisy when they let in Nebraska knowing that Nebraska was about to get booted from the AAU.
They have the contiguous boundary rule too but they are looking at California schools.
Are they though? A random reporter said that, and made a guess at which schools. I would guess Colorado would be one, Colorado would still be a boundary school and an AAU school, so that is a PAC12 school they could be reaching out to that fits their bylaws.

And then if CO joins that means Utah and AZ also fit with the AAU and contiguous border schools. So they could easily be reaching out to those.

That being said who knows if any of them jump to the B1G or if more than 1 do, we still could fit in both conferences at this point.

Rules are made to be broken, and the B1G would break the rules for a school like OU. They already did it for a much lesser school in NU. It was well known that Nebby was about to lose AAU status when they joined. That was not a surprise to the B1G presidents.
