Van Coleman was on Cotlar this morning, and he said that we might be adding a Juco recruit to next year's class. He said the kid was about 6'8" 245 lbs. He's averaging something like 15 pts. and 10 boards in 25 minutes of play.

Does anyone know about this kid? Do we have one scholly left for this guy?

We might be recruiting him just in case we lose someone. I don't think we have any open schollys.

I heard Coleman was just raving about Dykstra, the '10 commit. What was he saying about him?

Two different guys from Chipola College (Mike T's JUCO) have ISU listed.

DeAndre Thomas

Supposedly we don't have a scholarship available, but we were going to make when we were going after Stinnet and McFarland so I think it is a possibility.

I don't think the staff is targeting either of these players from Chipola. I also think Van Coleman is misinformed on the juco player but anything is possible.

Just thinking about this. He probably started recruiting a JC kid because of the way Jiri was not adjusting and figured that Jiri was on his way out of town after the year was over. So I imagine Greg was recruiting a kid until something clicked a few weeks ago with Jiri.

He could be a great tight end if he had any blocking ability.

Take what Van says with a little grain of salt. He has many times in the past, said that ISU is going after such and such player, only to never hear their name again. Usually we never contacted that player.

i would say there is a pretty good chance that it is cem dinc, because the original post said that he is averaging something like 15 pts and 10 rbs a contest and i just read that he is averaging 15 pts and 11 rbs per contest.

This would be a great pickup

Do we really need another big guy? I hate to say this, but if we bring in a JUCO big man, why did we accept the transfer from Thompson? That seems like it would be a waste then.

Does he have three years of eligibility, or two?

I know Dinc is at Marshalltown CC right now and last i knew he wasnt playing. ?? Not sure if he was in trouble, hurt, or it was because of transfering rules. However, didnt Dinc play for Indiana for a while????

I watched a Mediacom rerun of a Marshalltown Comm. College VS. DMAC and Cem Dinc hardly played. He moves okay but I didn't think he was Big 12 caliber. I know it was just one game.

We accepted Thompson because of his body. He is 6'9 and getting bigger and stronger. He has some skills, and Mac thought that with a year of work, he would be able to play at the Big 12 level.

I don't know about you, but I would rather have too many options than too few. We see how the latter is working this year.
